    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>POSITION PURPOSE: &nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p>The Associate Athletic Trainer works under the direction of the Head Athletic Trainer to coordinate care for student-athletes competing in intercollegiate athletics at Navarro College.&nbsp; These responsibilities include the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries within the College’s comprehensive sports medicine program.&nbsp; The Associate Athletic Trainer also supports the education and supervision of students participating in the College’s Athletic Training Educational Program.</p>\n<p><strong>GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Injury/illness prevention and wellness promotion.</li>\n <li>Examination and assessment of injury/illness.</li>\n <li>Therapeutic intervention of injury/illness.</li>\n <li>Coordinate care with various other healthcare providers.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Perform basic administrative duties for the sports medicine department.</li>\n <li>Coordination and scheduling of medical coverage for home and away competitions.</li>\n <li>Assists with the athletic training educational program.</li>\n <li>Serves as the academic liaison for student athletic trainers.</li>\n <li>Supervision, education, recruitment and retention of student athletic trainers.</li>\n <li>Organization and coordination of the inventory of athletic training equipment and supplies.</li>\n <li>Accurately document all injuries, treatments, and interventions.</li>\n <li>Adhere to NJCAA and institutional policies, procedures, and regulations.</li>\n <li>Perform job duties per NATA code of ethics and State of Texas scope of practice.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Proficient in the practice domains of athletic training and a wide range of medical concerns.</li>\n <li>Effective communication in both day-to-day tasks as well as high stress situations.</li>\n <li>Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.</li>\n <li>Attention to detail with preparation and documentation.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Prioritize and perform multiple tasks with little or no direct supervision.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n<p><u>Required:</u></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in appropriate area of specialization.</li>\n <li>Licensed by the Texas Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers, or eligible for exam.</li>\n <li>Minimum of three years of professional experience in an athletic department setting.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><u>Preferred:</u></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Master’s degree.</li>\n <li>NATABOC Certification</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Variances from regular working hours may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.</li>\n <li>Busy working environment with numerous interruptions.</li>\n <li>Travel with occasional overnight and/or multi-day stays.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Holiday and weekend coverage may be necessary in some situations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>SALARY:&nbsp;</strong> Commensurate with Education and Experience (This is an 11 month position to be paid over 12 months)</p>",
