Description Environmental Scientist – P2 Program Executes pollution prevention (`P2`) program activities to reduce environmental impacts and improve compliance performance. Conducts process reviews, develops actionable initiatives, and coordinates with Government stakeholders to drive measurable waste reduction and sustainability outcomes. Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Environmental Scientist – P2 Program : Pay commensurate with experience. Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice. Environmental Scientist – P2 Program Responsibilities Include: Conduct pollution prevention (`P2`) process reviews to identify initiatives that reduce environmental impacts, including equipment alternatives, material substitutions, process changes, recycling opportunities, and waste generation reduction methods. Perform up to 12 P2 process reviews per year and document findings, recommendations, estimated benefits, and implementation considerations. Coordinate P2 process reviews and proposed initiatives with Government personnel, Environmental Protection (EP) Program Managers, and other Contractors as required to confirm feasibility and align execution plans. Prepare and deliver written P2 process review reports to the P2 Program Manager. Submit the annual IDEM Partners for Pollution Prevention recertification package and maintain supporting documentation as required. Attend IDEM P2 Partners meetings and events as directed to stay current on program requirements and best practices; communicate relevant updates to the Government team. Conduct P2 Program Status meetings with the P2 Program Manager upon request; prepare meeting agendas and capture/distribute meeting minutes and action items. Track process review outcomes and support analysis of trends in waste reduction opportunities and program performance. Performs other job-related duties as assigned Environmental Scientist – P2 Program Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Chemistry, or a related field. 0- 3 years of relevant experience supporting environmental compliance, pollution prevention, waste minimization, or sustainability programs. Demonstrated ability to evaluate industrial/operational processes, identify improvement opportunities, and develop clear, implementable recommendations. Strong technical writing and communication skills for reports, meeting minutes, and stakeholder coordination. Experience with IDEM pollution prevention programs, including Partners for Pollution Prevention. Experience supporting cross-functional teams in operational settings (manufacturing, maintenance, utilities, or logistics).
