Youth Activity Instructors teach and develop skills while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for youth participants.</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong></p><p>1. Assists with planning and implements age-appropriate activities.</p><p>2. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.</p><p>3. Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness.</p><p>4. Cultivates positive relationships and maintains effective communication with parents, children and other staff. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.</p><p>5. Maintains an accurate record of all attendees and/or associated progress.</p><p>6. Actively participates in department and branch staff meetings and trainings.</p><p>7. Ability to organize and implement age-appropriate/development appropriate program activities</p><p>5. Complete before first shift: program-specific training</p><p>6. Complete within 30 days of hire: YMCA cause &amp; culture training; Child Abuse Prevention Training, BLS CPR/AED/First Aid</p><p>7.
