    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Role Summary</p>\n<p>We’re looking for a Computer Engineering Intern to support both our <strong>R&amp;D</strong> and <strong>Sustaining Engineering</strong> teams. You’ll work on <strong>embedded firmware development in C</strong>, <strong>electronics troubleshooting</strong>, and <strong>test development</strong> across prototype systems and existing products in the field. This is a hands-on role that collaborates closely with electrical, firmware, software, and lab teams.</p>\n<p>What You’ll Do</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop, debug, and maintain <strong>embedded C firmware</strong> for MCU-based systems (Microchip, NXP, STM32-class devices)</li>\n <li>Support <strong>product sustaining</strong> work: investigate issues, reproduce failures, implement fixes, and verify changes</li>\n <li>Bring-up and troubleshoot hardware using lab tools (DMM, oscilloscope, logic analyzer)</li>\n <li>Execute test plans, capture data, and clearly document results / root cause</li>\n <li>Write and maintain <strong>Python test scripts/tools</strong> (bench automation, data logging, analysis)</li>\n <li>Assist with test fixtures, work instructions, and repeatable lab processes</li>\n <li>(Optional/Bonus) Use <strong>Altium Designer</strong> to review schematics/PCB layouts or assist with small edits</li>\n</ul>\n<p>What We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Current student pursuing BS/MS in <strong>Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related</strong></li>\n <li>Experience programming in <strong>C</strong> (coursework, projects, clubs, internships)</li>\n <li>Basic understanding of electronics (voltage/current, common components, reading schematics)</li>\n <li>Comfortable working in a lab environment and learning hands-on debugging</li>\n <li>Able to communicate clearly and document work (notes, test results, change summaries)</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Nice-to-Haves</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with MCU peripherals and interfaces (I2C/SPI/UART/CAN)</li>\n <li>Familiarity with interrupts, timers, DMA, low-power modes, or memory-constrained development</li>\n <li>Exposure to RTOS concepts (tasks, queues, synchronization)</li>\n <li>Git/source control and basic dev workflow (branches, PRs)</li>\n <li>Altium exposure</li>\n <li>Instrument/automation tooling (serial, USB instruments, SCPI)</li>\n</ul>\n<p>What You’ll Gain</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Real-world embedded development across <strong>new development + sustaining support</strong></li>\n <li>Mentorship from a multidisciplinary engineering group</li>\n <li>Practical debugging skills across firmware + electronics</li>\n <li>Experience building test tools that improve development speed and product quality</li>\n</ul>",
