We work with families and our community to address every challenge to school readiness a child may face. Our services include health and developmental screenings, nutritious meals, referrals to community resources and a high-quality preschool program that nurtures each child’s cognitive, physical and social/emotional development. To assist in the development and approval of policies, procedures, and regulations that govern the operations of KCI nonprofit. To monitor the finances, programs, and performance of the organization.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Expected Meeting Attendance: </span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> Regularly attend scheduled meetings (about 10 per year)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> Attend meetings of committees served (about 4/year)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> Attend board retreats, planning sessions, and board development workshops</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> Attend and participate in special events</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Obligations of the Board: </span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> Establish policy with the direct involvement of the Policy Council</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> Hire, fire (if necessary), supervise and annually evaluate the administrator</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> Secure adequate funds, including making an annual personal gift</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> Safeguard federal grant funds and resources by establishing effective financial procedures and regularly monitoring accurate financial reports </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> Provide overall direction for the organization by creating strategic goals and objectives and monitoring progress in meeting them</span><br><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Specific Duties: </span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> Attend meetings, participate and show commitment to board activities</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> Serve on an agency self-assessment or advisory committee</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> Be well informed and prepared for meetings</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> Contribute skills, knowledge and experience when appropriate.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> Listen respectfully to other viewpoints</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> Assume leadership roles in all board activities, including fund raising</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> Represent the nonprofit to the public, businesses and the community</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> Educate yourself about the needs of the people whom KCI serves</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>",
