Description
SUMMARY
The Mental Health Counselor provides individual and family counseling to children, adolescents, and/or adults in an integrated care setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Works from a strengths-based perspective and empowers patients appropriately within their natural support systems Serves all patients with compassion, many of whom have experienced past or present exposure to trauma, chronic medical conditions, poverty, and healthcare disparities Provides a high level of customer service consistent with best practice standards in the mental health field Maintains confidentiality Maintains required records EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field required Current Texas licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) required Two (2) or more years of outpatient counseling/therapy experience, preferably in a community health setting, preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred Knowledge of and experience with mandated reporting requirements, including identification and reporting of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children, elderly individuals, and persons with disabilities REQUIREMENTS
Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation SKILLS
Proficient in the use of electronic health records EPIC experience a plus TRAVEL
This position is located in Chapel Hill and requires occasional ability to travel to FCC site in Tyler.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
20% of the time is spent making repetitive motions 50% of the time is spent sitting 10% walking, bending, standing, stooping, crouching or kneeling 20% of the time is spent using hands to type, write or use controls Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions WORK ENVIRONMENT
