    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Location: </strong>Stamford Corps (Stamford, CT)</p>\n<p><strong>Status: </strong>Full-time</p>\n<p><strong>Hours Per Week: </strong>37.5</p>\n<p><strong>Schedule: </strong>Mon – Fri; 8:30 am – 4:00 pm (hours will vary once programs are implemented to fit the needs of the programs)</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of Position: </strong>Responsible for coordinating outreach to youth and Youth Ministries at the Stamford Corps.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintain a daily devotional and prayer life.</li>\n <li>Participate in weekly Corps’ Worship Service (a.k.a. Holiness Meeting).</li>\n <li>Work in unity with the Corps Officers to ensure programming excellence in youth ministries.</li>\n <li>Develop and maintain healthy working relationships with all persons in accordance with The Salvation Army's practices and policies.</li>\n <li>Develop, create, and establish programs for youth and young adults at The Salvation Army Stamford Corps. </li>\n <li>Coordinate and implement the evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development of the young people involved in Corps’ programs, including opportunities for new ministry initiatives.</li>\n <li>Plan and implement recruitment, leadership development, and training opportunities to increase the quality and effectiveness of volunteer staff.</li>\n <li>Regularly contact and visit those who participate in youth activities and their families.</li>\n <li>Provide leadership and support for youth Sunday School classes and other youth programming.</li>\n <li>Provide leadership and support as needed for youth activities such as Junior Soldiers, Corps Cadets, Bible Bowl, Music Programs, Vacation Bible School, Star Search, Troops Programs, etc.</li>\n <li>Recruit, coordinate, and transport kids attending camp, Youth Councils, young adult gatherings, and other divisional events.</li>\n <li>Maintain all records of attendance and statistics for related programs.</li>\n <li>Maintain clean and professional work and program areas.</li>\n <li>Maintain youth programming throughout the year, including Christmas and summer break.</li>\n <li>Attend all required Youth Ministries Coordinator meetings conducted by Territorial and Divisional Youth Departments.</li>\n <li>Adhere to guidelines for staff responsibilities as found in The Salvation Army’s Employee Manuals.</li>\n <li>Serve as a positive and professional representative of The Salvation Army.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree preferred.</li>\n <li>Minimum two years of experience working with youth.</li>\n <li>Strong personal Christian values and high moral character.</li>\n <li>Creative program abilities.</li>\n <li>Strong organizational skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to be a team member and work alone to complete tasks.</li>\n <li>Intermediate-level computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a 12-passenger van.</li>\n <li>A Uniform wearing Salvationist preferred</li>\n <li>Musical ability preferred but not a requirement.</li>\n <li>Must be available to work evenings and weekends.</li>\n <li>Must embrace, support, and reflect well on The Salvation Army’s mission and values.</li>\n <li>A positive “can-do” attitude.</li>\n <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate discretion, integrity, and confidentiality in dealing with all matters.</li>\n <li>Effective interpersonal skills.</li>\n <li>Must maintain a professional appearance.</li>\n <li>Must complete the KeepSAfe training and other required trainings upon hire.</li>\n <li>Self-motivated and dependable.</li>\n <li>Strong time-management skills with the ability to organize.</li>\n <li>Will respect and promote the interest of The Salvation Army. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>T</strong><strong>he Salvation Army is pleased to offer a comprehensive benefits program to full-time employees who work at least 30 hours per week, including...</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Comprehensive health care coverage, including dental/vision/hearing, with low-cost employee premiums, co-pays, and deductibles</li>\n <li>Employer-funded pension plan (100% vested after five years of eligible service)</li>\n <li>Telehealth/online doctor visits</li>\n <li>$20K Basic Life Insurance, including grief counseling services, funeral planning services, and will/power of attorney/legal document preparation (no cost to employee) </li>\n <li>Voluntary life insurance</li>\n <li>Short-term disability coverage (no cost to employee)</li>\n <li>Long-term disability coverage</li>\n <li>Supplemental insurance coverage options (Aflac, homeowners, auto, and pet insurance)</li>\n <li>Flexible spending accounts for health care and dependent care</li>\n <li>403(b) tax-deferred annuity plan</li>\n <li>Generous paid time off, including holidays, vacation, sick, personal, bereavement, and marriage leave</li>\n <li>Eligibility for the federal government’s Public Student Loan Forgiveness Program</li>\n <li>Most importantly – a job with a great purpose! </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Learn more about The Salvation Army's Southern New England Division at https://easternusa.salvationarmy.org/southern-new-england/ </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer: </strong>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, sex, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.</p>",
