The role also focuses on engaging employees in laboratory operations and monitoring staff performance from both a safety and productivity perspective.&nbsp;</p><p>The position requires regular review of daily operational data to ensure turnaround times (TAT) and quality standards are achieved, and proactive management of consumables and critical equipment spares to prevent disruption to laboratory performance.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Shift/Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 7:30am - 5:30pm</strong></p><p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Salary &amp; Benefits Information</strong></p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">In addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">&nbsp;</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p><ul><li><p style=\"margin-bottom:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-top:0in;tab-stops:list .5in;vertical-align:baseline;\">Management of the resources available at the laboratory including&nbsp;&nbsp; preparation of invoices, setting&nbsp;priorities/objectives,&nbsp;allocating&nbsp;resources to ensure&nbsp;optimum&nbsp;outcomes whiles&nbsp;maintaining&nbsp;effective cost control.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style=\"margin-bottom:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-top:0in;vertical-align:baseline;\">Ensure lab performance KPI are in line with contractual obligations and performance requirements.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"margin-bottom:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-top:0in;tab-stops:list .5in;vertical-align:baseline;\">Ensure analytical data is provided on time and review any delays to&nbsp;optimize&nbsp;laboratory operations.&nbsp;Inclusive of monthly and quarterly end of month reports for client presentation and reviews.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"margin-bottom:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-top:0in;tab-stops:list .5in;vertical-align:baseline;\">Conduct and oversee formal performance reviews, and manage performance improvement and disciplinary processes in consultation with HR.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"margin-bottom:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-top:0in;tab-stops:list .5in;vertical-align:baseline;\">Provide guidance and counsel to staff for improving performance of employees.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"margin-bottom:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-top:0in;tab-stops:list .5in;vertical-align:baseline;\">Personal management of consumables via monthly inventory and stock order.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"margin-bottom:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-top:0in;tab-stops:list .5in;vertical-align:baseline;\">Maintain good client relations through regular formal and informal communication.&nbsp;Act as the&nbsp;primary&nbsp;point of contact for the client on contractual, performance, and escalation matters.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"margin-bottom:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-top:0in;tab-stops:list .5in;vertical-align:baseline;\">Be responsible for&nbsp;OHSE, creating and&nbsp;maintaining&nbsp;a healthy and safe workplace environment.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"margin-bottom:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-top:0in;tab-stops:list .5in;vertical-align:baseline;\">Ensure team complies with&nbsp;all work instructions, work procedures, safe work&nbsp;procedures&nbsp;and safe work instructions, including written methods and verbal instructions as per Intertek policies.</p></li><li><p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Participate in all risk management processes, such as completion of risk assessments.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Minimum Requirements &amp; Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>College degree in science&nbsp;</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory procedures, standards, and quality systems applicable to&nbsp;minerals&nbsp;testing environments, including sound working knowledge of Intertek policies, procedures, and quality systems.&nbsp;</li><li>Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in a minerals laboratory, with exposure to sample preparation systems, fire assay analysis, carbon sulfur analysis, Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS), cyanide analysis and laboratory data entry processes.</li><li>Experience with LIMS/CCLAS or similar laboratory information management systems.&nbsp;</li><li>Valid driver’s license and reliable driving rord is required.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Requirements &amp; Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Degree in Chemistry, Metallurgy or Geology, preferred&nbsp;</li><li>At least three (3) experience managing a Gold mine site laboratory</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Intertek: Total Quality.
