This position manages driver schedules, dispatch activities, route coordination, and communication to ensure timely and efficient deliveries. In addition, this role serves as a backup Class A CDL Driver when needed to cover driver absences, vacations, call-offs, or increased delivery demands.</p><p><br></p><p>The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, safety-focused, and experienced in both transportation logistics and commercial driving operations.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>This is an overnight position. The schedule would be Sunday - Thursday 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM.</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Dispatch &amp; Logistics Coordination</p><ul><li>Coordinate and dispatch drivers, tractors, trailers, and routes to support daily distribution operations.</li><li>Monitor delivery schedules and provide real-time communication regarding delays, route changes, or operational issues.</li><li>Maintain accurate dispatch logs, driver schedules, delivery records, and transportation documentation.</li><li>Work closely with warehouse and shipping teams to ensure loads are prepared and dispatched on time.</li><li>Utilize dispatch systems, GPS tracking, and transportation management software to monitor fleet movement and efficiency.</li><li>Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company transportation and safety regulations.</li><li>Assist with route planning and load optimization to improve service levels and reduce transportation costs.</li><li>Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules and communicate equipment concerns promptly.</li><li>Respond professionally and efficiently to transportation issues, customer concerns, and emergency situations.</li></ul><p>Backup Class A CDL Driver Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Coordinate and logs routes for overnight delivery trucks, with focus on delivery time commitments.</li><li>Hands-on loading and unloading of product that is received into individual daily routes and secure loads.</li><li>Move skids using a manual pallet jack, hand truck, and lift gate.</li><li>Complete and maintain paperwork from the night's work including inter-branch transfers and truck logs.</li><li>Provide information to Dispatcher throughout the night, such as delivery times and picture capture.</li><li>Ensure truck cab and bed are emptied and cleaned daily at the end of every shift.</li><li>Prepare and schedule maintenance on vehicles to determine needed repairs or inspections.</li></ul>",
