The port has handled a variety of bulk and break bulk cargos since 1912.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The Port of Vancouver USA is a hub for more than 7 million tons of cargo moving from as far away as the Midwest to the Middle East, making its way on barges, trains, ships, or trucks &ndash; all converging on port docks. The bulk of cargo at the port includes wheat, minerals, autos, large project cargo, and liquids.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">We are a versatile, hard-working port on a mission to create jobs and trade for the region. The essential responsibilities for<strong>&nbsp;</strong>the <strong>Mechanic&nbsp;</strong>may include, but are not limited to, the following:</span></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Repair and maintenance of all equipment, or vehicles used in the construction, maintenance and repair of port buildings, roads, docks, rail lines, electrical and water systems.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Uphold the port&rsquo;s safety commitment in all actions and as a foremost way of thinking.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Maintain and operate EJ Ward Fuel System.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Maintain work area appearance and safety.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Identify and determine parts required for repairs.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Maintain accurate records of all service, repair, and other work through CMMS.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, CMMS and other computer applications (Strong computer skills required).&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Planning and project management for large equipment overhauls.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Work independently at remote sites from a fully equipped service vehicle.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Operate lift trucks as needed.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Exhibit positive and effective interaction with other port associates, vendors, and customers.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Actively support the Port&rsquo;s mission and vision and demonstrates values consistently.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Work effectively as a team player with all Port employees.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Other duties as assigned.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">(The principal duties and responsibilities listed are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. &nbsp;The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position.
