In this role, you will guide children through meaningful activities, build positive relationships, and help create a welcoming space where every child feels a sense of belonging.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Here’s what we offer when you join our team:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>A positive, supportive team culture where your contributions are valued</li>\n<li>Ongoing paid professional development to enhance your skills and advance your career</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Duties and Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for caring, nurturing, supervision and safety of children (6 – 12 years old).</li>\n<li>Plans and implements activities and special events for a program.</li>\n<li>Use Club Vans to drop off and pick up children from school and transport to various sites for recreational purposes.</li>\n<li>Recruits, selects, dismisses, orients, trains, monitors and provides support to program volunteers.</li>\n<li>Liaises with community service providers and other professionals to coordinate service provision, facilitate referrals to the program and represent the organization or program in external events.</li>\n<li>Establish open communication with parents/care givers.</li>\n<li>Ensure that specific goals of children and program are met.</li>\n<li>Ensure Agency Policies and Procedures, program standards, WCB standards, Community Care Licensing regulations, risk management requirements and general facility safety standards are met</li>\n<li>Maintains related records and statistics and produces reports as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em> </em></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>A diploma, certificate and/or relevant experience working with children in recreation, education or other social services.</li>\n<li>Must be at least 19 years of age (as per Provincial Licensing Standards)</li>\n<li>Current First Aid Certificate and Food Safe (or willingness to obtain)</li>\n<li>Class 4 Driver’s Licence</li>\n<li>Successful completion of Agency screening process, including criminal record check</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Additional Information:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>This position is open to all applicants</li>\n<li>This position requires union membership</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Hours:</span> Casual/on call</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Rate of Pay: </span>$22.60 per hour</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Closing Date: <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Open until filled</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><em>As an equal opportunity employer, BGC Okanagan is committed to the prioritization of equitable and inclusive employment practices.
