We are seeking a part-time Security Officer to join our team in an </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>evenings and weekends position</span></span><span> supporting the safety and security of our library locations, staff, and customers.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">What You'll Do</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for customers and staff.</span></li>\n<li><span>Patrol library buildings and grounds to monitor activity and address concerns.</span></li>\n<li><span>Enforce the library's Code of Conduct and other policies fairly and consistently.</span></li>\n<li><span>Respond to customer, staff, and safety-related incidents, including emergencies.</span></li>\n<li><span>Coordinate with law enforcement, fire, medical, and other emergency responders when needed.</span></li>\n<li><span>Document incidents and prepare accurate reports.</span></li>\n<li><span>Monitor security cameras, alarms, and other security systems.</span></li>\n<li><span>Assist with building opening, closing, and securing procedures.</span></li>\n<li><span>Support emergency preparedness efforts and staff safety training.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">What We're Looking For</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Must be 18+ years of age</span></li>\n<li><span>3–5 years of experience in a customer service, security, or public-facing environment.</span></li>\n<li><span>Current Illinois PERC certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 6–12 months of hire.</span></li>\n<li><span>Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.</span></li>\n<li><span>Sound judgment and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies.</span></li>\n<li><span>Commitment to excellent customer service and creating an inclusive environment for all.</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to work effectively with staff and customers in alignment with<span> </span><a href=\"https://www.ahml.info/content/our-culture\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Our Culture</a><span> </span>and<span> </span><a href=\"https://www.ahml.info/IDEA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IDEA</a>.</span></li>\n<li><span>Availability to work a schedule that includes </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>evening and weekend hours</span></span><span>.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #333333\">Education: </span></span><span style=\"color: #333333; font-size: 15px\">High school degree or equivalent required. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #333333\">Hours and Scheduling: </span></span><span style=\"color: #333333; font-size: 15px\">Part-time, 20 hours/week; <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Weeknight &amp; Sunday availability required</span>.
