HOURLY RATE: $32.00 per hour
A variety of important factors are reviewed by HR when considering salary, including job duties, the applicant’s education and experience, all relevant internal equity considerations, department budget, and funding source.

Position Summary:
The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences invites applications for a Research Scientist position in the area of community participation and inclusion for people with disabilities (serious mental illnesses, autism).
Required Education and Experience:
Doctoral degree in psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, social work/welfare, public health, occupational therapy, recreational therapy, or other relevant discipline and at least 4 years of related experience in the development of interventions autistic adults or adults with mental illnesses.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
*Expertise with adults with serious mental illnesses.
*Experience with overseeing research projects and preparing and submitting manuscripts for publication.
*Demonstrated background or interest in expanding their research experience with these populations in the area of community participation and inclusion.
*Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
*Ability to work with a diverse population, students, faculty, and staff.
*Ability to operate all standard office equipment and software including MS office.
Essential duties:
*Oversight of program research initiatives including:
-Evaluating and implementing interventions that promote community participation of adults with schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, bipolar disorder, or major depression, or autistic adults (e.g., work, housing, education, leisure/recreation, spirituality);
-Translational research that examines strategies for enhancing the uptake of evidence-based practices in community mental health settings;
-Research that examines factors that may affect community participation, cognitive functioning, or other mental health outcomes; Specific knowledge of research on caregiver perspectives on inclusion and participation and on racial and ethnic factors that influence participation; and
-Evaluation of interventions with neurotypical populations to increase inclusion practices and decrease discrimination toward individuals with mental illness or autistic individuals.
-Overall data management and analysis of research projects.
*Supervising up to two Center research staff;
*Writing research publications and grant proposals in partnership with Center faculty;
*Assistance in overseeing Center studies;
*Providing training and technical assistance related to Center activities;
*Additional similar undertakings associated with having a productive and successful research career.
This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
