a dependable, patient and compassionate attitude towards residents</li>\n<li>Demeanor always respectful of residents' rights and wishes</li>\n<li>Ability to cooperate with others and to follow directions</li>\n<li>Attends employee council meetings, departmental meetings and required or preferred in-service training and offers constructive suggestions when able.</li>\n<li>Generates and develops ideas, which improve the quality of care for residents or increase job productivity and satisfaction.</li>\n<li>Performs all job duties according to safety rules and practices required for this position, and as required to ensure the general safety of staff, residents, and visitors of this organization.</li>\n<li>Performs assigned duties according to the service excellence standards and goals established for this job position, and for all staff members of this organization.</li>\n<li>Exhibits the highest level of customer service towards staff, residents, and visitors.</li>\n<li>Utilizes electronic timekeeping system as directed.</li>\n<li>Follows policy and procedure regarding all electronic devices, computers, tablets, etc.</li>\n<li>Supports and abides by Elderwood’s Mission, Vision, and Values.</li>\n<li>Abides by Elderwood’s business code of conduct, compliance, and HIPAA policies.</li>\n<li>Perform other work duties as requested by supervisor, manager, or Administrator.</li>\n<h2>From</h2>\n<h2>Up to</h2>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy, Education or related field OR Certified Occupational Therapist (COTA) OR Associates Degree (example COTA) with 1-2 years of experience in long term care Activities OR 1-2 years’ experience in recreational programming in another field. </li>\n <li>Current, valid state required certification or license in the state in which work is performed or must be willing to obtain National Certification in Activities within 1 year.</li>\n <li>Certification in dementia and/or behavior management (e.g. CDT) or (will obtain within 1 year of hire)</li>\n <li>Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and web-based applications</li>\n <li>Current, valid driver license (if applicable)</li>\n <li>Demonstrated supervisory experience preferred</li>\n <li>Experience with dementia population desired</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors.
