This Trainee will be responsible for assisting the Crew Leader in the management of a crew, conducting morning safety huddles, and effectively communicating with their team members. This position is designed to prepare the Trainee for a Field Manager role within a 1-2 year time period.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Allan Myers build large, important, innovative infrastructure projects that shape the face of the mid-Atlantic region. Join us and let’s build excellence together.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities: </strong></p>\n<p>In this developmental role, Trainees will perform basic laborer functions on the crew while learning to become responsible for the following tasks. </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensures laborers report for work on time and in compliance with all policies regarding appearance and being “fit for work”.</li>\n <li>Procures all necessary materials and equipment.</li>\n <li>Ensures that the work environment is safe for all employees.</li>\n <li>Determines which employees will be responsible for which tasks while on the jobsite.</li>\n <li>Ensures that their laborers’ production is at a sufficient level and maintains documentation for recommending promotions, etc.</li>\n <li>Maintains materials usage documentation.</li>\n <li>Provides initial training for new hires and continual training for all team members.</li>\n <li>Maintains “Image of Excellence” housekeeping. Documents the safety status and overall fitness of all machinery and company equipment under their supervision.</li>\n <li>Communicates with the Equipment Shop on maintenance and repair via email.</li>\n <li>Leads team safety meetings for their crew. Reports incidents and injuries to Superintendent and HSE Team immediately.</li>\n <li>Forwards members’ concerns/complaints to Human Resources. Works with Superintendent on appropriate disciplinary measures.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>Reasonable accomodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. </em></p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>3-5 years of experience managing a team of employees, displaying significant management and leadership experience. Proven excellence in carrying out drive, results-oriented job duties and responsibilities. </li>\n <li>Experience in a heavy/civil construction industry preferred, but not required.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of heavy equipment, hand-held equipment, and general commercial construction preferred, but not required.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of safety practices within a construction environment preferred, but not required.</li>\n <li>Known for taking action, building consensus, being influential, and making purposeful decisions. </li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license required.</li>\n <li>Ability to frequently lift heavy objects over 60lbs.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Our Company Does Work That Matters</strong></p>\n<p>Allan Myers is the largest heavy civil construction and materials production contractor in the mid-Atlantic.
