Avison Young has been recognized as one of Canada's Best Managed Companies for the 13th year in a row, with a Platinum Club designation! </p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Avison Young Vancouver office is seeking a Junior Financial Analyst/Underwriter who will complete financial and real estate underwriting and analysis related to debt and equity markets. Candidate will work collaboratively with and provide support to the Debt and Equity Finance / Mortgage Services team.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>The base salary is aligned with market data and is estimated to be between $50,000 to $55,000 with the ability to achieve additional compensation through a bonus. This salary range reflects base compensation for the position across all Canadian locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors, including relevant education/training, experience, and internal equity. This posting is for an existing vacancy withing our organization.</em></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform financial analyses, including cash flow projections, valuation models and sensitivity analyses</li>\n <li>Produce financial models (using Argus and Excel) of varying complexity, including but not limited to detailed cash-flow/pro-forma projections, development models, and equity waterfalls</li>\n <li>Gather and evaluate economic, demographic and real estate market data for input into project specific deliverables</li>\n <li>Identify, analyze and support the implementation of debt/equity broking opportunities</li>\n <li>Assist with the daily management and workflow of the production pipeline</li>\n <li>Work with and interact with lender credit teams, customer support unit and closers</li>\n <li>Work with broker lead and support customer(s) in a timely, professional, and detailed manner</li>\n <li>In partnership with senior team members, evaluate creditworthiness of borrowers and their ability to repay loans to support credit decisions</li>\n <li>Assist in developing AY’s profile in the market by identifying marketing opportunities, including conferences, speaking engagements and networking</li>\n <li>Oversee financials used to underpin the loan application processes ensuring accuracy and robustness</li>\n <li>Maintain current and fluid knowledge of regulations and adapt to changes quickly </li>\n <li>Evaluate lending options to determine the optimal structure of the loan or alternative products </li>\n <li>Maintain an ongoing understanding of credit quality requirements of lenders to ensure loan applications meet or exceed corporate credit quality parameters</li>\n <li>Assist in reviewing legal documents such as leases, loans, and engagement letters</li>\n <li>Prepare proposals and offering materials for new or existing assignments and pursuits utilizing effective work planning capabilities</li>\n <li>Assist with preparation of presentation and pitch materials for new business pursuits</li>\n <li>Prepare research pieces for special events and presentations</li>\n <li>Conduct market surveys including sales and lease comparables </li>\n <li>Assist in supporting the growth of the mortgage services business through existing contacts and Avison Young clients</li>\n <li>Assist in ad-hoc work as required</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Economics, Business Finance and/or Real Estate with a strong record of academic achievement and demonstrated quantitative skills</li>\n <li>Strong understanding of financial concepts</li>\n <li>Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information and translate into strategic deliverables</li>\n <li>Understanding of real estate fundamentals, economic metrics and research processes</li>\n <li>Superior grammar and business writing skills</li>\n <li>Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint with experience in Argus considered an asset</li>\n <li>Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently and within a team on a wide variety of projects</li>\n <li>Ability to multi-task, work successfully under pressure and effectively manage time and workload</li>\n <li>Advanced internet research capabilities</li>\n <li>Professional, high-energy individual, with leadership experience</li>\n <li>Familiarity with construction processes and terminology / on site field experience</li>\n <li>Recent work experience in commercial real estate would be considered an asset</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Workplace Type</h2>On-Site\n<h2><i>Our Equal Opportunity Commitment</i></h2>\n<p>Avison Young practices as an equal opportunity employer in all services locations around the world.
