The brief program is a 24 bed unit which provides a safe place to stay for a short period of time. It allows time to rest and recover from the effects of intoxication or drug abuse. The social detox area has 25 beds and clients can stay up to 14 days in order to withdraw from substances and begin to learn about recovery. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement" Human Resources Exemption: No Experience Candidates with experience in Mental Health & Addictions will be given priority. Education Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP) Competencies Advanced - Technical skills Advanced - High level interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and colleagues Knowledge and Abilities Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Knowledge of medication management. Ability to de-escalate, assess, and engage with MHAS clients.
