    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Job Description</span></p>\n<p>The Design Engineer will take requirements and design equipment, layout and assembly drawings to fulfil the requirements<br>of the project. They will ensure that assembly and detailed drawings are prepared and well implemented adhering to Jord<br>ISO procedures and standards.<br></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Duties and Responsibilities:</span><br>• Design layout and detailed drawings, material list, using engineering 2D/3D drafting software<br>• Develop assembly and detailed drawings based on inputs from discipline engineers throughout the project lifecycle<br>• Ensure dimensional accuracy of drawings and documents used for manufacturing<br>• Ensure check lists are used for checking drawings including all machine interfaces and sub-assemblies<br>• Prepare technical purchase specification and review technical offers from vendors<br>• Conduct design reviews and optimise based on manufacturing methods, or functionality of an item or equipment by<br>studying an existing product, prototype and reverse engineering<br>• Analyse details to determine the cause of a failure, to learn details of design, construction, and operation and<br>determining corrective actions<br>• Demonstrate ability to apply design codes and standards combined with good engineering practices<br>• Ability to work cross functionally with team members at all levels across multiple departments<br>• Ability to network suppliers to identify optimised solutions and latest technologies in filtration equipment<br>• Assist sales and other departments in providing drawing, sketches for operational, presentation, tender, proposal<br>requirements and perform special tasks as assigned<br>• Seeks assistance of the management and other design engineers in resolving complex or ambiguous issues<br>• Adhere to timelines and budgeted hours<br>• Adhere to all Jord company policies and IMS requirements<br></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Skills and Experience:</span><br>• Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering<br>• At least 10 years’ experience in the mechanical design of filtration equipment used in mineral or sugar industries<br>including horizontal vacuum belt filter, drum filter, disc filter, filter press, conveyors furnaces<br>• Previous experience in the design of mechanical and machining components, drive arrangement, hydraulic<br>systems, shaft and pulley design and lifting mechanisms<br>• Exposure to electrical and pneumatic control and monitoring systems, vessels, steel structure fabrication and piping<br>for filtration turnkey projects<br>• Ability to understand and apply machining and general tolerances<br>• Exposure to commissioning of equipment at site<br>• Ability in operating 3D model software such as Inventor or AutoCAD<br>• Awareness of computational analysis using the latest available tools for FEA (Ansys) is preferred<br>• General understanding of Engineering, Fabrication Procedures, Sourcing, Procurement, Shipping and QA/QC<br>Methods</p>",
