TMH is the region's healthcare leader and top provider of advanced care with a 772-bed acute care hospital and the region's only:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Level II Trauma Center </li>\n <li>Primary Stroke Center </li>\n <li>Level III Neonatal Intensive Care </li>\n <li>Pediatric Intensive Care </li>\n <li>The most advanced cancer, heart and vascular, orthopedic & surgery programs in the Panhandle. </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Our system also includes a psychiatric hospital, multiple specialty care centers, six residency programs and more than 50 affiliated physician practices. </p>\n<h2>HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT</h2>\n<p>Under direct supervision of a licensed nurse, the Patient Care Assistant performs a variety of routine duties involving:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Care of medically ill acute or sub-acute patients.</li>\n <li>Performs direct patient care.</li>\n <li>Observes and reports changes in the behavior and physical status of patients.</li>\n <li>Provides a clean and safe environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Adittional Responsabilities of a Patient Care Assistant are: </p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, oral and denture care, skin and nail care, bed making, and maintaining a clean environment.).</li>\n <li>Promoting and maintaining mobility (ambulating, transferring, transporting, turning, positioning, lifting, and performing range of motion exercises).</li>\n <li>Assisting with nutrition and hydration (feeding and assisting patients with eating and drinking).</li>\n <li>Assisting with toileting and elimination (assisting with the use of bedpan/urinal/bedside commode, providing catheter care, and care of the incontinent patient).</li>\n <li>Performs data gathering and recognizes abnormal findings (measures and records vital signs, weight, oral intake, output including urine, emesis, and stool).</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Reports:</strong></p>\n<p>Registered Nurse (RN)/Nurse Manager [JC 031001] and/or RN/Assistant Nurse Manager [JC 030303]</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Supervises:</strong></p>\n<p>None</p>\n<h2>WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Education:</strong></p>\n<p>High school diploma (or equivalent) and at least 18 years of age.  </p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Required Experience: </strong></p>\n<p>No previous experience required. One (1) year of job-related experience preferred.
