    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Position Description:</strong></p><p>At Nevada Gold Mines, our vision is to be the world’s most valued gold mining business by finding, developing, and operating the best assets with the best people.</p><p>We are looking for a Senior Hydrogeologist to join the Water Management Team in the Carlin District. This role performs advanced technical hydrogeologic analysis, makes strategic operational and closure recommendations, and will lead and mentor technical staff. The Senior Hydrogeologist will routinely perform engineering and technical tasks relating to the site’s groundwater management, modeling, and remediation activities. This is a senior level position in which incumbents are expected to have significant background in operational activities and regulatory compliance requirements regarding water management.</p><p>At Nevada Gold Mines, we are committed to a safe work environment and sending every person home safe and healthy every day and leaving a sustainable legacy for our host communities.</p><p>We offer a comprehensive benefits package including a medical, dental, and vision plan with company-sponsored medical clinics, a 401k retirement plan with an employer match, paid time off, a company stock purchase program, and much more!</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure that the required hydrogeologic data is collected, compiled, analyzed, interpreted, and applied so that dewatering costs and timelines for operational requirements are communicated accurately to stakeholders and management</li><li>Ensure that necessary hydrogeologic review of modeling and mine designs is conducted, and that potential risks and opportunities are identified and communicated to key stakeholders</li><li>Ensure on-going communication and cooperation with other departments/functional groups (geology, mine engineering, geotechnical engineering, mine operations, environmental, process, etc.) to optimize the ability for all groups to obtain the necessary information and/or accomplish a shared objective</li><li>Ensure that hydrogeologic work is budgeted, forecasted, and communicated appropriately for all projects</li><li>Interpret and analyze technical data pertaining to ground and surface water quantity and quality; rainfall and drainage; flood control; and water management, disposal, and reuse</li><li>Compile planning and design analyses based on independent critical evaluations and make recommendations pertaining to hydrogeologic issues</li><li>Prepare comprehensive reports regarding groundwater basins and surface water resources</li><li>Manage the formulation and administration of supporting consultant contracts</li><li>May formulate and/or use computer models to evaluate hydrogeologic technical details</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in hydrogeology, geology, civil engineering (or similar) is <strong>required.</strong></li><li>Minimum10 years of experience in the mining industry is preferred</li><li>Experience with water well systems, hydraulic flow, and well field optimization is preferred</li><li>Knowledge of advanced principles and practices employed in hydrogeology and hydrology</li><li>Ability to compile and analyze complex hydrogeologic data; prepare reports and comprehensive studies, and communicate findings effectively in written and oral formats</li><li>Familiarity with hydrogeologic modeling techniques is required.
