Description

Position summary: The Business Development Manager must be high performing in initiating, planning, executing and overseeing all sales and promotional activities effectively. The Business Development Manager undertakes the following duties alone or in collaboration with other personnel in the Corporate Business Development (CBD) department: Achieving growth and hitting sales targets by successfully managing the sales team. Initiating, designing and implementing strategies that expands the company’s customer base and ensure a strong presence. Managing recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of Corporate Business Developers. Tasks: Determines annual unit and gross-profit plans by initiating and implementing strategies; and analyzing trends and results. Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; and projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products. Initiating and implements national sales programs by developing field sales action plans. Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors. Establishes and adjusts selling prices by monitoring costs, competition, and supply and demand. Completes national sales operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; and following up on work results. Maintains national CBD staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Maintains national CBD staff work results by counseling and disciplining employees; and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and cold call events. Responsible for managing sales activities in assigned territory. Requires working a flexible schedule and overnight travel, occasional weekend and/or evening work. Other duties as assigned. Skills: Strong communication skills.
