    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>The successful candidate will provide comprehensive medical health physics services, including serving as the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) for various hospitals in the region.</p><p>The ideal candidate will be quick to learn, an excellent communicator, and a collaborative team player.</p><p>This role requires effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with healthcare professionals on a daily basis.</p><p>This role offers a great opportunity for growth in the field of medical health physics while providing a direct impact on client safety and compliance.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Testing mammographic, radiographic, ultrasound, and other diagnostic medical equipment.</li><li>Provide radiation shielding surveys to estimate lead thickness</li><li>Conduct evaluations of lead content in personnel protective equipment (lead aprons) for medical staff</li><li>Provide radiation safety consulting services. Including performing quarterly audits and attending radiation safety committee meetings.</li><li>Travel independently between client sites to provide on-site support and address any radiation-related questions or concerns from customers.</li><li>Assist with regulatory compliance, and coordination with radiation safety teams and radiology directors.</li><li>Qualify for MQSA physics testing within a year of hire</li><li>Operating within a team of other physicists to address the medical health physics needs of several healthcare sites.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Master’s degree or higher in Imaging, Medical, or Health Physics or any equivalent from an accredited college or university.&nbsp;</li><li>On a pathway to obtain CHP, ABSNM, ABMP, or ABR certifications.</li><li>At least 2 years of experience using radiation machines.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Travel Requirements</strong></p><p>Travel by car or plane to various client locations is required within Florida. Travel times from the home can vary to customer locations.</p><p>Some overnight stays will be necessary.</p>",
