    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p><strong id=\"isPasted\">ARCHBISHOP DAMIANO SCHOOL POSITION DESCRIPTION</strong></p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>Position Title</strong>: Long-Term Substitute Teacher&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Status</strong>: &nbsp; Temporary, Full-Time</p><p><strong>Reports To</strong>: Assistant Principals/Executive Director</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p><p>Archbishop Damiano School (ADS) is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and flexible Long-Term Substitute Teacher to support students with multiple disabilities in a structured and supportive educational environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong classroom management skills, the ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs, and a collaborative approach when working with instructional teams, related service providers, and families. Candidates with experience in special education and supporting students with behavioral, communication, and sensory needs are strongly preferred.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Essential Duties/Responsibilities of the Position: &nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with multiple disabilities.</li><li>Adapt instructional materials and teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles, communication needs, and abilities.</li><li>Create and maintain a structured, supportive, and positive classroom environment that fosters student engagement, growth, and independence.</li><li>Implement and follow Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to support student learning and development.</li><li>Utilize classroom management strategies and behavioral supports consistent with student needs and school expectations.</li><li>Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, nurses, paraprofessionals, administrators, and support staff to provide a comprehensive educational experience.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, behavior, and classroom documentation.</li><li>Communicate professionally and effectively with students, parents/guardians, and staff to support student success and continuity of instruction.</li><li>Support students with transitions, activities, and classroom participation as needed.</li><li>Follow all school policies, procedures, safety protocols, and NJ DOE regulations.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;<strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Education or a related field required; Master&rsquo;s degree preferred.Valid New Jersey Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH) or Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD/TOSWD) endorsement strongly preferred.</li><li>Candidates possessing only a New Jersey Substitute Teacher Certification must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience working with students with multiple disabilities, behavioral needs, communication challenges, and/or sensory needs within a special education setting.</li><li>Approved Criminal History Review through the New Jersey Department of Education, Office of Criminal History Review.</li><li>Experience implementing and adapting IEPs to support student learning and behavioral needs.</li><li>Strong classroom management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills.</li><li>Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.</li><li>Ability to support students with varying academic, behavioral, communication, and sensory needs.</li></ul><p><strong>Location:</strong> In-person in Westville, NJ&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Schedule:</strong> Monday-Friday 8:30AM-3:30PM</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><em>&nbsp;</em><em>Archbishop Damiano School is an Equal Opportunity Employer, drug free workplace, and complies with ADA regulations as applicable</em>.</p></div>\n",
