Clinical Supervisor
Position Description
Status : Part-Time, 25 hours per week
Reports To: Manager of Mental Health Services
Schedule of Hours: Monday – Friday, 9-5 pm
Possible Percentage of Work from Home: A minimum of 60% onsite expected
Mandated Reporter: Yes
ABOUT THE AGENCY
As the only agency in San Mateo County with the sole purpose of serving those experiencing intimate partner abuse, CORA provides safety, support and healing. CORA’s comprehensive services for clients include a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, legal services and counseling. In addition, CORA provides community education and prevention programming throughout the county. CORA is a multicultural agency committed to serving individuals, regardless of age, ethnicity, race, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, immigration status, religion, financial status, language, mental or physical ability.
POSITION SUMMARY
As part of the Mental Health supervisory team, this position will provide clinical and administrative supervision to clinicians. The Clinical Supervisor should have demonstrated skills in implementing evidence-based interventions and adherence to ethnical and clinical best practices. Knowledge and experience in treating trauma are essential. The Clinical Supervisor will bring a sophisticated understanding of cultural competency and conflict resolution, trauma-informed care, ability to provide feedback and follow-through with staff, and a genuine interest in professional and personal growth.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES
Supervision:
As part of the Supervisory team, conduct weekly individual and group supervision of staff clinicians, graduate interns, and program coordinators as assigned and required by the BBS (Board of Behavior Services) or other licensure boards. In partnership with the Clinical Supervisor(s) and Manager, assess and direct continuous quality assurance/improvement, including quality planning and strategies, clinical documentation, chart compliance, and corrective-action and follow-through. Review and approve case assessments, timesheets, clinical & service notes, and collaborate on treatment planning with direct service staff, volunteers, interns, and trainees to determine the most appropriate interventions and treatment modalities. As part of the mental health supervisory team, they will recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff/interns/volunteers to ensure the success, sustainability, resourcefulness, and ongoing development of program services within the department. Ensure completion of annual staff evaluations and complete performance plans for direct reports. Oversee and ensure the continuous professional development of staff within the department.
Direct Client Services:
Provide direct client services on a weekly basis (this may include intakes, risk assessments and safety planning, walk-ins, and individual, family, or group therapy). This is expected to average 10-15% of the total work time. Other Duties:
Participate in the design and implementation of new programming in collaboration with the Manager of Mental Health Services and with other department managers to ensure effective interdepartmental workflow strategies when appropriate. Assist in or take the lead on designated projects by providing program evaluation and documentation in collaboration with the manager. Oversee timely data entry, upkeep of records, and database functionality to support programs. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS –
Minimum 2 years management and 2 years clinical experience post license in a non-profit or social service setting. Applicant must be qualified by the state to supervise licensed eligible staff. Strong understanding of domestic violence, trauma-focused interventions, and trauma-informed practices. California licensure as an MFT, LCSW, or Psychologist is required. A minimum of a Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field is required. Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred: must be able to read, write, and speak in both languages. Trained in trauma informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Sand Play and/or Play Therapy, or trauma-informed practices. WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Successful results upon hire from a DOJ Live Scan fingerprint clearance are required Completion of the 40 Hour Training – required and will be provided to the successful applicant upon hire if not already completed within last 5 years. Driver’s License and active insurance strongly preferred MANDATED REPORTER STATUS
This position requires you to work with children, and your profession qualifies you as “mandated reporters” of child abuse or neglect, which is found in California Penal Code Section 11165.7. You are required to report suspected cases of abuse and neglect pursuant to California Penal Code Section 11166.5.
