Intertek is continually innovating and evolving to reduce risk for consumers, brands and organizations in every sector and industry around the world.</i>&nbsp;<i>We go beyond Testing, Inspection and Certification of products: we are a Total Quality Assurance Provider to industries worldwide.</i>&nbsp;<i>Our Purpose: Bringing quality, safety, and sustainability to life.</i></p><p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>What are we looking for?</strong></p><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;\">Under direction of the Lab Manager - Minerals, the <strong>Lab Maintenance Technician </strong>is responsible for maintenance service and repairs in the areas of sample preparation equipment, fire assay equipment, fume hoods and neutralization systems, etc.</p><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;\">&nbsp;</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Shift/Schedule: &nbsp;1st position: Tuesday-Saturday, 7:30am - 5:30pm; 2nd position: Sunday-Thursday, 5:30am - 3:30pm</strong></p><p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Salary &amp; Benefits Information</strong></p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">In addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\">&nbsp;</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p><ul><li><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-top:0in;\">Ensure all laboratory equipment within&nbsp;sample preparation equipment, fire assay equipment, fume hoods and neutralization systems, etc. are in working order and maintained as per preventive maintenance schedule</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-top:0in;\">Advise Lab Manager of spare parts list in line with equipment requirements</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-top:0in;\">Ensure maintenance instrument logs and calibration records are maintained to ensure the validity and traceability of the information</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-top:0in;\">Seek vendors and quotations for work beyond internal capabilities with prior approval from Lab Manager</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-top:0in;\">Provide consultation to Lab Manager as to additional improvements opportunities for equipment utilization and efficiency</p></li><li><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-top:0in;\">During downtime, assist Lab Technicians as required by Lab Manager</p></li></ul><p class=\"MsoNormal\">This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.&nbsp;</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Minimum Requirements &amp; Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Maintenance Trade School certification</li><li>Ability to comprehend complex technical drawings equipment drawings and troubleshoot as required</li><li>Ability to plan and perform mechanical tasks safely as per technical instructions</li><li>Ability to safely perform manual handling tasks, including standing for extended periods and regularly lifting items weighing&nbsp;approximately 50 pounds,&nbsp;in accordance with&nbsp;safe work practices</li><li>Effective verbal and written communication skills suitable for a laboratory and production environment</li><li>Ability to work independently once trained, while managing a fluctuating workload and changing priorities</li><li>Capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment while&nbsp;maintaining&nbsp;safety and quality standards</li><li>Strong practical problem-solving skills with sound mechanical aptitude</li><li>Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team to support operational and production requirements</li><li>Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record is required</li></ul><p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Preferred Requirements &amp; Qualifications:</strong></p><ul style=\"margin-top:0in;\"><li>Millwright or Industrial Mechanic experience is preferred</li><li>Two years of experience in a machine fitting / repair environment</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Intertek: Total Quality.
