Adjunct Instructor - Information Technology
Founded in 1930, Fisher College, a private not-for-profit institution located on the Back Bay section of Boston, offering over 30 different Bachelor and Graduate-level programs, both on campus and online. The core offerings at Fisher reflect liberal arts, but the majors and graduate programs reflect an expertise in practical fields like management, marketing, communication, accounting, fashion merchandising, criminal justice, biology, and information technology. (Note: Compensation range is per course)
We are seeking an adjunct instructor to teach one section of CS205 on Monday/Wednesday 11:15-12:30 and CS245 Management Application and Information Systems Monday/Wednesday at 12:45-2:00 and T/TH 11:15-12:30 on the Boston Campus Fall 2026 semester. The courses will be taught from August 31, 2026, through December 18, 2026. These courses will be taught in-person during the daytime hours. Additional time is required for training, course prep, grading, and student communications.
Overview and Responsibilities
CS245 Management Application and Information Systems teaches advanced computer concepts and application skills. In addition, this course offers students an overview of the role computer technology plays in resolving common business problems. Students will explore methods of analyzing problems and developing solutions that take advantage of the strengths of automated information systems. Students will gain advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and learn Access fundamentals.
CS205 Programming I is an introduction to programming and problem-solving. Topics include data types, variables, assignments, control structures, collections, functions, classes, and an introduction to object-oriented programming. This course provides the student with the fundamental programming skill to develop simple software solutions using a modern object-oriented programming language.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Master's degree in computer science or related field. Doctoral degree preferred.
Higher Education teaching is desired.
Professional experience in information technology and computer science
Experience with current technology
Ability to work and teach in-person on Boston campus
Ability to teach introductory courses in Computer Science.
Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas, Blackboard, or Moodle.
