The Legal team currently consists of over fifty professionals located around the world.</p><p><b>Partner with the best</b></p><p>You will work closely with our Legal and Sales teams, supporting their work on a global basis. You will become a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders across the business.</p><p>As a Counsel, you will be responsible for:</p><ul><li class=\"lst\">Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with Akamai's customers and partners, primarily in the Americas;</li><li class=\"lst\">Collaborating with cross-functional business partners on legal risk associated with commercial sales contracts</li><li class=\"lst\">Assuring conformity and consistency in application of Akamai's legal and business policies and practices</li><li class=\"lst\">Participating in efforts to enhance the legal department's overall performance</li><li class=\"lst\">Acting as a Point of Contact in handling other tasks that arise from time to time.</li><li class=\"lst\">Handling other legal tasks and projects that arise from time to time.</li></ul><p><b>Do what you love</b></p><p>To be successful in this role you will:</p><ul><li class=\"lst\">Have a Law degree from an accredited University, be admitted/licensed to practice in an in-house role in CR, and be an attorney in good standing</li><li class=\"lst\">Have 4+ years experience practicing law in private practice or in-house, working with US technology or telecommunications clients</li><li class=\"lst\">Have excellent English and Spanish written/oral communication skills to conduct contract negotiations via phone and/or video</li><li class=\"lst\">Have a solid understanding of commercial law, intellectual property rights, and privacy and data protection in support of sales contracts</li><li class=\"lst\">Be able to leverage business judgment assessing legal risk while thinking strategically and providing practical advice</li><li class=\"lst\">Have excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision</li></ul><p><b>Work in a way that works for you</b></p><p>FlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world.
