    "description": "<p>The Research Associate I supports daily lab operations and research by working at<br>the bench, planning and troubleshooting experiments, and contributing to ongoing research<br>projects. This is a part-time position (approximately 24 hours per week).<br> <br>Essential Duties:</p>\n<p><br>*Performs various laboratory techniques and procedures<br>*Basic mouse procedures<br>*Prepare lab reagents (buffers and solutions)<br>*Oversee lab inventory and stocking.<br>*Coach junior members on laboratory protocols and procedures<br>*While this position is focused on performing discovery-based bench science, it will also<br>involve administrative responsibilities related to the smooth operation of the lab (e.g., safety,<br>training, and ordering).<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Supervisory Responsibilities:<br>Assist in mentoring summer interns.  <br>  <br>Required Education, Skills &amp;amp; Experience:<br>*A Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, microbiology, or relevant scientific discipline<br>*One or more year(s) year of relevant research experience in a lab environment</p>\n<p>*Curiosity in science, willingness to learn new techniques, and a commitment to performing<br>rigorous, high-quality science are essential<br>*Capability to work flexible work hours to accommodate experimental schedules, and a<br>willingness to adapt to changing work requirements<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>All ISB staff members are expected to have baseline technical skills and the ability to<br>communicate effectively and appropriately over email, the intranet/forum, etc. Employees<br>should be able to use Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint at a functional level.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>ISB is an D/V/EOE.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Pay Range: Expected pay is between $21.30 - $22/hour</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>This position is not benefit-eligible. </p>",
