Description
General Summary of Duties
Christie Clinic's department of Dermatology is seeking a full-time Patient Service Representative from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm or 4,10-hour shifts/week at the University clinic, with no night or weekend requirements.
Duties include acting as a conduit between department chair, coordinator and staff, greeting clinic patients upon arrival, assisting with the check in process, answering incoming phone calls, scheduling appointments, collecting payments and assisting with the checkout or rescheduling process.
Job Qualifications and Expectations
JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
Greet patients and visitors in an efficient, professional and courteous manner and solicit customer feedback to improve service.
Demonstrate the ability to promptly answer a high volume of phone calls and schedule patient appointments with providers.
Provide check-in process for patients.
Verify and update necessary demographic information.
Maintain provider schedules.
Keep a neat and orderly work and lobby area.
Maintain relevant office supplies for department effectiveness.
Remain aware of provider’s erratic and unpredictable schedule. Keep patients updated on provider’s schedule.
Contact patients in the event an appointment must be cancelled.
Receive payments using software system, balance daily and print off financial reports daily.
Take medication refill requests or questions through the electronic medical record to be sent to the work list for the MOA or RN.
Offer patients information regarding the Patient Portal. If interested, have patient fill out necessary paperwork to apply.
Perform related work as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or better.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in a medical office setting
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Duties include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 30 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in the reception area and involves frequent contact with patients as well as exposure to communicable illnesses. Requirements may include working irregular hours.

"qualifications": "<p><strong>JOB DUTIES:</strong> (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)</p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Greet patients and visitors in an efficient, professional and courteous manner and solicit customer feedback to improve service. </p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Demonstrate the ability to promptly answer a high volume of phone calls and schedule patient appointments with providers.</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Provide check-in process for patients.</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Verify and update necessary demographic information.</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Maintain provider schedules.</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Keep a neat and orderly work and lobby area. </p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Maintain relevant office supplies for department effectiveness.</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Remain aware of provider’s erratic and unpredictable schedule. Keep patients updated on provider’s schedule.</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Contact patients in the event an appointment must be cancelled.</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Receive payments using software system, balance daily and print off financial reports daily.</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Take medication refill requests or questions through the electronic medical record to be sent to the work list for the MOA or RN.</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Offer patients information regarding the Patient Portal. If interested, have patient fill out necessary paperwork to apply.</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Perform related work as required.</p>\n\t</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>High school diploma or better.</p>\n\t</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Experience in a medical office setting</p>\n\t</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</strong></p>\n\n<p>Duties include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 30 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.<strong> </strong></p>\n\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p>\n\n<p>Work is performed in the reception area and involves frequent contact with patients as well as exposure to communicable illnesses. Requirements may include working irregular hours.<strong> </strong></p>\n\n<p><strong>PAY AND BENEFITS:</strong></p>\n\n<p>The estimated pay range for this position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
