You will be working with a team of highly skilled developers to manage the upgrade and deployment of a network of thousands of production servers.</p>\n<p>As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Implementing strategic features, customer-requested enhancements, and fixing defects for Akamai's Image and Video Manager and EdgeKV products.</li>\n <li>Contributing to architecture/design documents, code reviews, test strategies, and release/deployment plans.</li>\n <li>Designing and developing highly scalable and performant software from conception through deployment.</li>\n <li>Fostering a culture that strives for consistent, iterative improvement to our processes, strategies, tools and frameworks.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Do what you love</strong></p>\n<p>To be successful in this role you will:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Have 2 years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or its equivalent.</li>\n <li>Be interested in learning about Image and Video optimizations and transformations.</li>\n <li>Have experience developing backend applications, eg: databases, queuing systems, understanding of system limits and impacts on performance/scale.</li>\n <li>Have experience with some technologies like Java, Angular, Spring Framework, NoSQL Databases, Realtime Service Delivery, containerization technologies.</li>\n <li>Have expertise with scripting languages in a Linux/Unix environment (eg: shell, bash, python, ruby).</li>\n <li>Be enthusiastic about automation, and build tools to streamline development processes and reduce manual toil.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Work in a way that works for you</strong></p>\n<p>FlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world.
