Fleetway Inc. is hiring a Principal Engineer, Mechanical to support exciting, high-impact work from our offices across Canada. You’ll play a key role in major defense projects, helping ensure the Royal Canadian Navy remains ready to help, ready to lead, and ready to fight.

Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance and support to the Technical Team to ensure high-quality execution of assigned work and continuous development of team capabilities Lead quality assurance activities, technical training initiatives, and project delivery for complex engineering challenges Prepare detailed engineering reports, calculations, and technical specifications as part of multidisciplinary project teams Act as a technical authority and subject matter expert, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders including customers, systems engineering, production engineering, program management, and shipyards Serve as the primary escalation point and decision-maker for technical issues within the discipline Mentor and develop engineers through coaching, knowledge sharing, and support of individual Personal Development Plans Develop, author, and maintain engineering processes and procedures to ensure consistent, efficient, and high-quality deliverables
Qualifications
Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) or equivalent
Experience
Minimum 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in mechanical systems design, analysis, and integration Proven experience within the shipbuilding or offshore industry, with strong familiarity in marine systems, standards, and environments Holds a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in good standing, demonstrating recognized technical competence and professional accountability
