GHA is an employee-owned, multi-faceted civil engineering and land surveying company that has built its reputation on civil engineering with a personal approach. The successful candidate shall have considerable knowledge of and experience performing/completing wetland delineations, natural resource management, applicable federal, state, and local wetland regulations, wetland mitigation, and naturized stormwater practices. This is a non-exempt, hourly, part-time position. The Senior Wetland Specialist will report to the division director.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>How you will make an impact:</strong></p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Wetland Delineation:</span></strong></p><ul><li>Conduct&nbsp;wetland&nbsp;delineations&nbsp;on&nbsp;a&nbsp;variety&nbsp;of&nbsp;project&nbsp;locations&nbsp;throughout&nbsp;Lake&nbsp;and&nbsp;Cook counties as well as surrounding counties</li><li>Collect&nbsp;soil&nbsp;samples,&nbsp;identify&nbsp;vegetation&nbsp;and&nbsp;knowledge&nbsp;of&nbsp;hydrology&nbsp;to&nbsp;determine&nbsp;the location and extent of wetlands</li><li>Familiarity&nbsp;with&nbsp;online&nbsp;resources&nbsp;and&nbsp;data&nbsp;and&nbsp;ability&nbsp;to&nbsp;utilize&nbsp;this&nbsp;information&nbsp;to&nbsp;determine potential wetland locations prior to a field visit being performed</li><li>Compile&nbsp;reports&nbsp;summarizing&nbsp;findings&nbsp;of&nbsp;wetland&nbsp;delineations&nbsp;including&nbsp;a&nbsp;description&nbsp;of&nbsp;the site location, exhibits, USACE data sheets and photographs</li></ul><h1 style=\"line-height: 1;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Regulatory Compliance:</span></h1><ul><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Ensure&nbsp;compliance&nbsp;with&nbsp;federal,&nbsp;state,&nbsp;and&nbsp;local&nbsp;environmental&nbsp;regulations&nbsp;and&nbsp;permitting requirements through agencies such as USACE, IDNR, USFWS, LCSMC, MWRD, etc.</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Knowledge&nbsp;of&nbsp;USACE&nbsp;NWP&nbsp;program&nbsp;and&nbsp;County&nbsp;general&nbsp;permits&nbsp;(Lake,&nbsp;Cook,&nbsp;McHenry, etc.) with experience submitting individual permits through USACE a plus</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Ability&nbsp;to&nbsp;coordinate&nbsp;wetland&nbsp;mitigation&nbsp;via&nbsp;banks&nbsp;and/or&nbsp;in-lieu&nbsp;fees</li></ul><h1 style=\"line-height: 1;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Risk Management:</span></h1><ul><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Develop&nbsp;and&nbsp;implement&nbsp;strategies&nbsp;to&nbsp;mitigate&nbsp;environmental&nbsp;risks&nbsp;and&nbsp;minimize&nbsp;project impacts on the environment</li></ul><h1 style=\"line-height: 1;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Stakeholder Engagement:</span></h1><ul><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Engage&nbsp;with&nbsp;stakeholders,&nbsp;including&nbsp;clients,&nbsp;regulatory&nbsp;agencies,&nbsp;and&nbsp;community&nbsp;groups,&nbsp;to address environmental concerns and facilitate project approvals</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Maintaining and building client relations</li></ul><h1 style=\"line-height: 1;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Environmental Planning:</span></h1><ul><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Develop&nbsp;environmental&nbsp;management&nbsp;plans&nbsp;and&nbsp;mitigation&nbsp;measures&nbsp;to&nbsp;protect&nbsp;sensitive habitats and promote environmental sustainability</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Experience developing permittee-responsible mitigation plans is a plus</li></ul><h1 style=\"line-height: 1;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Project Management:</span></h1><ul><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Manage&nbsp;environmental&nbsp;aspects&nbsp;of&nbsp;multi-disciplinary&nbsp;projects,&nbsp;including&nbsp;budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation</li></ul><h1 style=\"line-height: 1;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Team Leadership:</span></h1><ul><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Provide&nbsp;leadership&nbsp;and&nbsp;mentorship&nbsp;to&nbsp;junior&nbsp;staff&nbsp;members,&nbsp;fostering&nbsp;a&nbsp;collaborative&nbsp;and supportive work environment</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Support&nbsp;junior&nbsp;staff&nbsp;in&nbsp;developing&nbsp;internal&nbsp;templates&nbsp;and&nbsp;documentation&nbsp;for&nbsp;permit submittals, reports, etc.</li></ul><h1 style=\"line-height: 1;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Continuing Education:</span></h1><ul><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Stay abreast of emerging environmental trends, technologies, and regulations to ensure best practices and compliance with industry standards</li></ul><p><strong>What you will bring to Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc</strong></p><p><strong>Education:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul id=\"isPasted\"><li>Bachelor&#39;s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field;
