We have an exciting new opportunity at Scope for a Professional Affairs Manager (US - East) to join our team!

Professional Affairs Manager (US-East)
As a Professional Affairs Manager, you will drive US Key Opinion Leader (KOL) activities by driving KOL mapping and engagement activities, while supporting advisory boards, and expert meetings. To build new KOL partnerships, you will attend appropriate congresses and meetings in your territory.
You will work closely with and report to the Head of Sales (US). The main purpose of this role is to effectively support the US sales team in delivering and implementing sales, medical, and marketing messages, in addition to supporting product launches, and running regional and national sales events and exhibitions. The campaigns and exhibitions are crucial for showcasing Scope’s innovative products and educational initiatives for our customers. You will also work closely with the Medical Director to ensure the KOL strategy is developed and delivered for the US market.
This is a full-time role that will be both field-based and office based covering the Eastern US geography with approximately 60% travel. Candidate must be located near a well-connected airport hub in the Eastern US.
Key Responsibilities
Healthcare Provider (HCP) Partnerships
· Lead top tier US KOL engagement, development and identification and work with these leaders on various projects.
· A key project member to organise Scope US Eyecare Provider (ECP) Advisory boards including contracts and calendar of activities.
· Lead Scope relationship with doctor partner groups in geography (ie, Dry Eye Institute, ODs on Facebook)
· Bolster Scope standing and have presence in defined teaching institutions in assigned geography.
· Work with ECPs to gather product testimonials for Optase products and therapeutic areas.
· Lead KOL mapping in new therapeutic areas (includes all HCP tiers).
· Contribute to the development of HCP Compliance SOPs.
· Identify and develop new relationships with US professional societies.
· Work collaboratively with Professional Affairs Manager-West towards overall company goals
Sales Team Support
· Work closely with the Head of Sales and the US Sales team, to provide support and tools to create engaging campaigns and educational materials.
· Execute strategic campaigns to align with each target audience, identify and engage prospective clients, accelerate the sales cycle and improve client retention.
· Liaise with the US Marketing team to ensure that any synergies relating to new product launches or new assets can be utilized accordingly.
· Help execute and plan Scope functions, our National and Local Tradeshows.
· Monitor and track industry trends and competitor activities, and update stakeholders regularly.
· Provide content, input and feedback on social media activity as it relates to the brand.
Innovative Education
· Lead Scope educational efforts of new science, data, innovation, NPD of KOLs in geography
· Liaise with Medical Team to help bring educational seminars, continuing education, ad-boards and other medical projects to life.
· Ensure educational plans are aligned with business objectives for optimised return on investment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Life Sciences Degree or 6+ years of experience in Ophthalmology.
At least 3-5 years proven experience in a sales support role or consumer/marketing experience.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Strong understanding of ophthalmology therapeutic area
Professional experience of working in the pharmaceutical industry
Experience in pre-launch, peri-launch, and post-launch phase of a product as part of its life cycle management
Strong work ethic, project management, and organization skills with an eye for detail and the ability to bring an idea to life with minimal supervision.
Good understanding of sales and marketing strategies
Hands-on, ‘can do’ attitude, rapid service and solutions-oriented
Self-starter, ability to work in a fast-paced ever-changing environment.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, analytical and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated relationship-building skills, with the ability to liaise between Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), Corporate, and the field Sales organization.
Demonstrated ability to manage and work with others diplomatically, and effectively, on complicated subject matter.
Demonstrated ability to understand the science and clinical aspects of a product portfolio
Excellent planning and organization skills with an ability to work at a strategic level yet also drive daily execution of the plan.
Proven ability to work cross functionally and with external stakeholders eg. HCPs, Regulatory Bodies etc.
A bility in evaluating current practices of others through questioning.
Ability to challenge and influence change.
Flexibility and willingness to travel (approx 60%).
