          "text": "<p>The Mentor’s primary goal is to build a strong mentoring relationship with his/her mentee through personal and professional support, guidance, counseling, and encouragement. The Mentor serves as a role model for mentees, and helps motivate and coach his/her mentee throughout the duration of the eight-year mentoring program. The Mentor will be required to maintain communication with his/her mentee, attend required in-person events related to relationship-building and academic and professional development, and provide a safe and respectful environment that fosters personal and professional growth. </p><p></p><p>Description of Duties / Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Provide individualized mentoring to mentee(s) via in-person, telephone, and email meetings/correspondence.</li><li>Attend and participate in scheduled educational, professional development, and networking activities with mentee(s) to provide support and guidance.</li><li>Maintain close mentoring relationship with mentee(s) by jointly developing and tracking mentee goals, sharing professional experiences and networks as appropriate, and upholding strong two-way communications.</li><li>Confer with Mentoring Program staff to discuss mentoring goals, and progress.</li><li>Participate in Mentor Training Program to learn mentoring standards and guidelines.</li><li>Complete evaluation surveys, hour/activity logs, and other paperwork as requested.</li></ul>",
