    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Location:</strong>&nbsp;Joseph 7C (JO7C), Complex Intervention Unit (General Care)</p><p><strong>Patient Care Type:</strong>&nbsp;This is a 10-bed secured medical/surgical unit that is designed to provide care to adult patients with multiple comorbidities.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>This unit was specifically designed to safely care for patients who have an increased risk of potential danger of harming self or others and/or verbal or physical aggressive behavior.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>Future opportunity for staff on the unit could include joining the role of the of behavioral emergency response team for the Department of Nursing.&nbsp;</p><p><span>&nbsp;</span><strong>Bed #:</strong>&nbsp;10</p><p><strong>Nursing Team Roles:&nbsp;</strong>Nurses on JO7C are specially educated to teach and care for patients with complex medical/surgical and behavioral health needs. An emphasis on early intervention and a holistic nursing approach is used to meet the needs of this diverse patient population.</p><p><strong>For New Graduate Nurses:</strong> Please apply through the Nurse Residency Program posting, which is specifically designed to support new graduate RNs. The RN will function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice provide a basis for the practice of the RN. The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. The RN delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources. The RN possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and teaching; and may participate on committees or projects.
