ROAD SERVICE TECHNICIAN Department: Fleet & Maintenance Location: Long Beach Shop Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Reports To Fleet & Maintenance Director Position Summary Ecology Auto Parts Inc. is seeking a skilled and reliable Road Service Technician to join our team. This role requires a CDL Class-A Driver’s License along with a Clean Driving Record and involves operating a medium-sized service truck to provide roadside maintenance and repair services for our fleet of heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment. The Road Service Technician will perform emergency repairs, preventive maintenance, and diagnostic tasks in the field, ensuring minimal downtime for our vehicles and equipment. This position operates on a schedule of Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM . Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, you must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. Perform emergency roadside repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. Operate a medium-sized service truck equipped with tools, parts, and diagnostic equipment. Respond to service calls promptly and provide effective, timely resolutions to breakdowns in the field. Perform safety inspections and ensure all repairs meet regulatory standards. Utilize vehicle computer diagnostic systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs. Prepare accurate estimates for time, materials, and labor costs for repairs. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the service truck and while on job sites. Document completed repairs, parts used, and service times using fleet maintenance software. Assist in shop-based repairs or projects as needed.
