The Operations Manager drives performance, safety, service levels, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining alignment with overall financial objectives.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Oversee the day-to-day warehouse operations across multiple business units.</li><li>Ensure efficient receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and returns processes.</li><li>Develop and implement operational strategies to meet productivity, accuracy, and service targets.</li><li>Coordinate cross-functional activities between business units to optimize space, labor, and equipment usage.</li><li>Any other duties as assigned by the leadership team.</li></ul><p><strong>Team Management &amp; Development</strong></p><ul><li>Build, mentor, and lead a team of warehouse supervisors and staff, fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence while developing future site leaders.</li><li>Manage workforce planning, scheduling, and labor allocation across business units.</li><li>Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed.</li><li>Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.</li></ul><p><strong>Inventory &amp; Systems Management</strong></p><ul><li>Enforce process compliance to ensure inventory and order accuracy.</li><li>Monitor KPIs related to inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and on-time shipping.</li><li>Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems in conjunction with defined SOPs.</li><li>Identify and implement process improvements to reduce errors and shrinkage.</li></ul><p><strong>Financial &amp; Performance Management</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and manage departmental budgets.</li><li>Monitor operational costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.</li><li>Track and report KPIs including productivity, accuracy, service levels, and safety metrics.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean or Six Sigma principles (preferred).</li></ul><p><strong>Safety &amp; Compliance</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.</li><li>Maintain a safe working environment through regular audits, training, and enforcement of safety protocols.</li><li>Lead safety initiatives and incident investigations and ensure that reporting protocols are followed efficiently and effectively.</li></ul><p><strong>Customer &amp; Stakeholder Engagement</strong></p><ul><li>Collaborate with internal business units to meet service expectations.</li><li>Address operational challenges impacting customer satisfaction.</li><li>Support business growth initiatives, including onboarding new product lines or clients.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills &amp; Competencies</strong></p><ul><li>Strong leadership, mentorship, team and conflict management skills.</li><li>Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.</li><li>Proficiency in WMS, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.</li><li>Strong analytical and financial acumen.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.</li></ul><p><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p><ul><li>Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures.</li><li>Frequent walking, standing, and occasional lifting to 50 lbs.</li><li>May require flexible hours, including evenings or weekends during peak periods.</li></ul><p><strong>Accountable for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)</strong></p><ul><li>Order accuracy rate</li><li>On-time shipment rate</li><li>Inventory accuracy</li><li>Labor productivity</li><li>Safety incident rate</li><li>Budget adherence</li></ul>",
