Description
Position Summary
The Transportation Manager is responsible for coordinating and organizing the movement of inbound and outbound containers between sites according to customer requirements and in a manner with company policy and governing regulations.Hiring Range is $80,000-$90,000 based on experience. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction for any employer. We are not able to provide visa sponsorship or assume existing sponsorships.
Key Responsibilities
Communicates and coordinates with customers and haulers about loads that need to be picked up to ensure timely and efficient movement of materials.
Reviews reports and paperwork to verify correct documentation of floor tons and ensure accurate representation of materials processed and transported.
Collaborate with the facilities operations team to continuous movement of materials and ensure floor tons are kept to a minimum.
Observes waste and recycling inventories and productivity and adjusts transportation assets as necessary to maintain efficiency.
Provides guidance and training to scale operation employees to ensure adequate knowledge of paperwork and material movement and provides coverage in the scale house when coverage is needed.
Coordinates the routing, movement and tracking of inbound and outbound containers between sites and adjusts schedules and drop off locations to ensure volume and customer commitments are met.
Develops and maintains strong relationships with haulers and disposal sites to ensure adequate transportation and disposal site availability and also achieve the best transportation value.
Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.
Work with Operations team to develop deep understanding of our new scale and billing system, AMCS-Platform. Review daily scale data entries by team to ensure accuracy of all Inbound and Outbound tickets.
Review daily Mattress Inbound reports and ensure Mattress Recycling Council (MRC) website is up to date and accurate.
Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.
Education, Experience & Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a High School Education or equivalent, 6+ years of experience in the transportation industry or logistics and a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, listening, verbal and written communication skills are required. Proven commitment to work and safety, strong understanding of state legal load limits, understanding of DOT requirements, logistics and transportation equipment are necessary. Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office 365 and related platforms is necessary.
Although not required, a bachelor's degree in business, logistics, other related field, or equivalent experience along with experience or interest in an environmental and/or sustainability field are preferred. Only U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, TN Visa holders, or applicants with authorized temporary work status may apply. U.S. work authorization is required. Visa sponsorship is not available.
