General Summary of Duties
Christie Clinic's department of Vein and Vascular is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm at the University clinic, with no night or weekend requirements. This position will require the ability to travel on a rotating schedule to Danville, Bloomington, and Effingham, as needed, with reimbursement for mileage and travel time (per IRS guidelines).
Duties include performance of skills through the delivery of patient care using a systematic patient assessment. Previous health care experience and CNA or CMA are preferred.
Job Qualifications and Expectations
JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments prior to appointment. Clean and restock following appointment.
Assist patient to exam room, take vitals, weight and height of patient. Enter information into the electronic medical record.
Maintain and update patient medical record upon visit including allergies, medications, etc. and enter into the electronic medical record.
Flag appropriate room for provider to see patient.
Assist with procedures during appointment.
Review online transcriptions prior to patient appointment and update during appointment as necessary.
Maintain relevant medical and office supplies for department effectiveness. . Use inventory management system in place to maintain appropriate par levels and assist fellow team members with ordering when necessary.
Perform related work as required.
Provide post procedural care and documentation as required
Travel to satellite clinics (reliable transportation necessary)
Late- Stay Schedule (flexible hours to cover office based labs prep/recovery area).
Sterile technique setting up surgical tray and prepping patients for outpatient procedures including wound debridement, vein ablations, sclerotherapy, angiography.
Phlebotomy/lab draws.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous healthcare experience
Graduation from an accredited program for certified nursing assistants or certified medical assistants
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:
CPR Certification
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 50 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, a normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids and other waste common to a health care environment. Requirements may include working irregular hours.

Clean and restock following appointment. </li>\n\t<li>Assist patient to exam room, take vitals, weight and height of patient. Enter information into the electronic medical record.</li>\n\t<li>Maintain and update patient medical record upon visit including allergies, medications, etc. and enter into the electronic medical record.</li>\n\t<li>Flag appropriate room for provider to see patient.</li>\n\t<li>Assist with procedures during appointment.</li>\n\t<li>Review online transcriptions prior to patient appointment and update during appointment as necessary.</li>\n\t<li>Maintain relevant medical and office supplies for department effectiveness. . Use inventory management system in place to maintain appropriate par levels and assist fellow team members with ordering when necessary.</li>\n\t<li>Perform related work as required.</li>\n\t<li>Provide post procedural care and documentation as required</li>\n\t<li>Travel to satellite clinics (reliable transportation necessary)</li>\n\t<li>Late- Stay Schedule (flexible hours to cover office based labs prep/recovery area).</li>\n\t<li>Sterile technique setting up surgical tray and prepping patients for outpatient procedures including wound debridement, vein ablations, sclerotherapy, angiography.</li>\n\t<li>Phlebotomy/lab draws.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: </strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>High School Diploma or equivalent</p>\n\t</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Previous healthcare experience</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Graduation from an accredited program for certified nursing assistants or certified medical assistants</p>\n\t</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>CERTIFICATE/LICENSE: </strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>CPR Certification</p>\n\t</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</strong></p>\n\n<p>Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 50 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, a normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.</p>\n\n<p><strong>TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p>\n\n<p>Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids and other waste common to a health care environment.
