This role is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a variety of automated machinery, as well as performing day-to-day upkeep of building systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be technically proficient, safety-conscious, and able to manage a diverse set of maintenance responsibilities. This role will report to the Plant Manager in Avelen, NJ</p><p>To ensure success as a maintenance technician, you should have advanced mechanical knowledge of industrial machinery, excellent troubleshooting skills, and good time-management skills. Ultimately, a top-class industrial maintenance technician boosts production by ensuring all production equipment functions correctly and receives regular maintenance.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</strong></p><ul><li>Install, maintain, and repair automated machinery and mechanical systems.</li><li>Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment issues.</li><li>Perform preventative maintenance on automation systems to minimize downtime.</li><li>Document service and repair activities in maintenance logs or CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).</li><li>Perform routine inspections and repairs of facility systems including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, doors, and basic electrical.</li><li>Respond to facility-related service requests in a timely manner.</li><li>Ensure the building remains clean, safe, and compliant with relevant codes and standards.</li><li>Support minor construction, painting, and carpentry tasks as needed.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><strong>Required skills and qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma or GED required; technical school or trade certification preferred.</li><li>2+ years of maintenance experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.</li><li>Working knowledge of automated equipment, PLC systems, mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.</li><li>Basic understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.</li><li>Proficient with hand and power tools, safety protocols, and reading schematics or technical manuals.</li><li>Comfortable with using or learning CMMS platforms and digital reporting tools.</li><li>Excellent time-management skills.</li><li>Detail oriented.</li><li>Excellent teamwork and communication skills.</li><li>Ability to read and write in English.</li><li>Must have excellent attendance by scheduling days off in advance and arriving at work on time.</li><li>Work independently with little guidance.</li><li>Ability to operate computers and relevant warehouse management computer software.</li><li>Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)</li></ul><p><strong>Nice to Haves:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with robotics or conveyor systems.</li><li>Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.</li><li>OSHA safety training or similar certifications</li><li>Bi-lingual Spanish</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Prolonged periods working on feet (10-hr shifts) and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending, walking, lifting, stepping, pulling, pushing, etc.</li><li>Ability to lift 80lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical labor as needed.</li><li>Must be comfortable working in various environments (noise, dust, temperature variations).</li><li>Occasional overtime or on-call duties may be required.</li></ul><p>This job description is not all-encompassing; however, it is intended to be a general description of the responsibilities of this position.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Company Overview</strong></p><p>We are a leading ecommerce company with a mission to deliver high-quality products and exceptional customer experiences.
