This role partners directly with customers and business clients to create custom, one-of-a-kind designs and also supports the Lead Designer in shaping the look, feel, and function of future products—driving our mission of sustainability through thoughtful, purposeful design.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Customization is at the heart of what we do, and the Junior Designer plays a key role in bringing our customers’ visions to life. The ideal candidate thrives under deadlines, communicates clearly, and ensures every design—whether custom or core—is both visually compelling and production-ready.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Why Join Us?</span></p>\n<p>We offer a generous benefits package for our full-time employees, including:</p>\n<p>✅ Medical, dental, and vision insurance</p>\n<p>✅ Flexible spending accounts (Health and Dependent Care)</p>\n<p>✅ Life insurance, short-term &amp; long-term disability<br>✅ 401(k) plan<br>✅ Paid vacation, holidays, sick days, and birthday leave<br>✅ Employee referral bonus<br>✅ Employee assistance program<br>✅ A<span> great</span> employee merchandise discount<br><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>What You’ll Do</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design custom, production-ready graphics for totes and accessories made from recycled sailcloth, tailored to individual customer requests.</li>\n<li>Create polished product mockups—whether by adapting existing artwork or designing from scratch—that capture each client’s vision.</li>\n<li>Communicate directly with customers to review, revise, and finalize custom designs, providing a positive and collaborative experience.</li>\n<li>Ensure every design file is accurate, properly proofed, and aligned with production specs before it goes to manufacturing.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with the Wholesale team to deliver unique, brand-aligned designs for business accounts and special projects.</li>\n<li>Contribute to the creative direction of our core product line by supporting trend research and developing original design concepts.</li>\n<li>Partner with the Director of Materials and Sustainability to bring new ideas to life using existing material inventory.</li>\n<li>Help maintain organized inventories of materials, trims, and components to support ongoing product development.<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>What We’re Looking For</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>A degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Fine Arts, or a related field, along with hands-on design experience.</li>\n<li>Strong visual design skills and a sharp eye for detail, with a knack for creating clean, compelling graphics.</li>\n<li>High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite—especially Illustrator and Photoshop.</li>\n<li>The ability to turn customer ideas into clear, engaging visual designs that reflect their vision and our brand.</li>\n<li>Comfortable communicating with customers and internal teams—both over email and by phone—with professionalism and warmth.</li>\n<li>Thrive in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines, and juggle multiple projects without compromising quality.</li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li>\n<li>A self-starter who takes initiative, manages time well, and isn’t afraid to take ownership of their work.</li>\n<li>Open to feedback, eager to learn, and genuinely excited about the intersection of product design and sustainability.</li>\n<li>Some familiarity with accessory or garment design and construction is a plus.</li>\n<li>Appreciation for our coastal lifestyle brand and a belief in our mission to create beautiful products from recycled materials.</li>\n<li>Ability to work on-site at a computer workstation.<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>📍<span> Work</span> Location:<br>In person - South Portland, ME</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>At Sea Bags,<span> </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">we celebrate diversity</span> and are proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
