Being a Quanta Services company provides us with immense operational bandwidth and allows us to employ the most highly skilled individuals across an array of challenging projects.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>AES is an Equal Opportunity Employer and participates in E-Verify.</p>\n<h2>About this Role</h2>\n<p>Advanced Electric Systems (AES) is seeking Power Transformer Field Service Technicians (Mid-Level through Senior) to support field assembly, electrical testing, oil processing, inspection, repair, and commissioning of utility-grade power transformers and associated equipment.</p>\n<p>Technicians will support outage-based maintenance, transformer installation, commissioning, field repair, and capital upgrade projects for utility and EPC clients nationwide.</p>\n<p>This position involves nationwide travel supporting transformer installation, startup, inspection, and lifecycle maintenance projects.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Typical Work Performed</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Transformer Assembly & Installation Support</li>\n <li>Vacuum Fill & Oil Processing</li>\n <li>Insulating Oil Sampling & Handling</li>\n <li>Electrical Testing (TTR, PF, Winding Resistance)</li>\n <li>Bushing Power Factor Testing</li>\n <li>LTC Inspection & Functional Testing</li>\n <li>Auxiliary Device Testing (gauges, relays, controls)</li>\n <li>Leak Detection & Field Repair</li>\n <li>Transformer Commissioning Support</li>\n <li>Outage-Based Startup & Energization</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Systems & Equipment Supported</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Utility-Grade Power Transformers</li>\n <li>Generator Step-Up Transformers (GSU)</li>\n <li>Distribution Transformers</li>\n <li>Load Tap Changers (LTC)</li>\n <li>Bushings & Arresters</li>\n <li>Cooling Systems & Auxiliary Devices</li>\n <li>On-Load Tap Changer Mechanisms</li>\n <li>Radiators & Conservators</li>\n <li>Oil Preservation Systems</li>\n <li>Nitrogen Systems</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You'll Do</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform field assembly, inspection, testing, and repair of power transformers</li>\n <li>Execute electrical testing and evaluate transformer condition</li>\n <li>Support outage-based commissioning and startup of transformer equipment</li>\n <li>Lead or support field crews during installation and maintenance projects</li>\n <li>Inspect and troubleshoot LTCs, bushings, and auxiliary devices</li>\n <li>Document and report test results per project specifications</li>\n <li>Coordinate with utility clients, EPCs, and project management teams</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You'll Bring</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>3+ years transformer field service or electrical apparatus experience</li>\n <li>Experience with power transformer testing or oil processing</li>\n <li>Familiarity with Doble, Omicron, or Vanguard test equipment</li>\n <li>Mechanical aptitude for assembly and repair activities</li>\n <li>Ability to read electrical drawings and transformer nameplate data</li>\n <li>Willingness to travel for project assignments</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Transformer Assembly Experience</li>\n <li>Vacuum Fill / Oil Processing Experience</li>\n <li>LTC Maintenance or Inspection Experience</li>\n <li>Commissioning or Startup Experience</li>\n <li>Utility or EPC Project Experience</li>\n <li>Military Prime Power or Equivalent</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You'll Get</h2>\n<p>When you join Advanced Electric Systems (AES), you’re not just stepping into a job, you’re becoming part of a team that takes pride in the work we do and the people who do it.
