Job Description
The iSeries/WINS Systems Developer/Operator is responsible for overseeing and managing the iSeries AS400 and WINS system in COBOL and CL based environment, ensuring their smooth operation, and resolving any technical issues that may arise. The position is responsible for planning and implementing effective system maintenance and upgrades, as well as designing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure optimal system performance and security as required by the business. The role demands a combination of technical and managerial skills, including strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational flexibility.
What you will do for C&F:
Plan and implement operating system OS/400 upgrades and maintenance, ensuring minimum system downtime.
Manage, troubleshoot, and support all things Catapult, including development and implementation of Daily, Monthly, and Weekly processes.
Ensure all aspects of the ROCKET DEVOPS (ALDON) Source Code Development Tools are implemented, exercised, and supported throughout the lifecycle of any system change.
Support, troubleshoot, and resolve all issues related to MIMIX for high availability disaster recovery.
Knowledge of iSeries Cloud Solutions Kendryl/Skytap and implementation experience
Maintain, develop in a COBOL/CL environment on WINS (Wheatley Insurance System).
Reprogram/enhance parts of the WINS system in COBOL and CL development languages.
Design, plan, and implement new projects as requested by users and upper management
Perform all Database administrator functions for DB2/400
COBOL and CL Development work consists of:
Creating new batch programs and processes
Creating and implementing export processes
Updating Online Programs/processes
Updating existing batch program/processes
Manage/maintain/create automated tasks on Iseries and file servers, including Secure FTP with internal and external entities.
Design, plan, and implement data processes to meet the needs of the business from the WINS system.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep abreast of changing business needs, and to ensure this ecosystem remains in line with the company's IT objectives and growth plans.
Work closely with other team members and support staff to meet user needs.
Meet with users and upper management to discuss requests/tickets/problems/complaints and enhancements to the system when necessary.
Execute/monitor daily and monthly processing, including all file transfers using IACCESS file transfer.
Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure cost-effective solutions and optimal service levels.
What you will bring to C&F:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience in Development and Operations on an iSeries/AS400.
Ability to upgrade the Iseries OS/400 operating system, Applying PTFs, performing IPL’s and Tape library management
Strong knowledge and expertise in programing languages such as COBOL/400, SQL/400, CLP/400 SDA, RLU, PDM, WRKQRY, Sequel, ACOM, Catapult, DFU.
Demonstrated expertise in Insurance for Management of the WINS system
Full knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies and tools for the iSeries.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and deliver projects accurately and on time.
Excellent problem-solving, communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions.
Effective written and verbal skills, to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage resources efficiently.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Property and casualty insurance experience a strong plus.
Occassional travel to New York City or Morristown, NJ.

The role demands a combination of technical and managerial skills, including strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational flexibility.\r\n \r\nWhat you will do for C&F:\r\n- Plan and implement operating system OS/400 upgrades and maintenance, ensuring minimum system downtime.\r\n- Manage, troubleshoot, and support all things Catapult, including development and implementation of Daily, Monthly, and Weekly processes.\r\n- Ensure all aspects of the ROCKET DEVOPS (ALDON) Source Code Development Tools are implemented, exercised, and supported throughout the lifecycle of any system change.\r\n- Support, troubleshoot, and resolve all issues related to MIMIX for high availability disaster recovery.\r\n- Knowledge of iSeries Cloud Solutions Kendryl/Skytap and implementation experience\r\n- Maintain, develop in a COBOL/CL environment on WINS (Wheatley Insurance System).\r\n- Reprogram/enhance parts of the WINS system in COBOL and CL development languages.\r\n- Design, plan, and implement new projects as requested by users and upper management\r\n- Perform all Database administrator functions for DB2/400\r\n- COBOL and CL Development work consists of:\r\n- Creating new batch programs and processes\r\n- Creating and implementing export processes\r\n- Updating Online Programs/processes\r\n- Updating existing batch program/processes\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n- Manage/maintain/create automated tasks on Iseries and file servers, including Secure FTP with internal and external entities.\r\n- Design, plan, and implement data processes to meet the needs of the business from the WINS system.\r\n- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep abreast of changing business needs, and to ensure this ecosystem remains in line with the company's IT objectives and growth plans.\r\n- Work closely with other team members and support staff to meet user needs.\r\n- Meet with users and upper management to discuss requests/tickets/problems/complaints and enhancements to the system when necessary.\r\n- Execute/monitor daily and monthly processing, including all file transfers using IACCESS file transfer.\r\n- Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure cost-effective solutions and optimal service levels.\r\n \r\nWhat you will bring to C&F:\r\n- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).\r\n- Proven experience in Development and Operations on an iSeries/AS400.\r\n- Ability to upgrade the Iseries OS/400 operating system, Applying PTFs, performing IPL’s and Tape library management\r\n- Strong knowledge and expertise in programing languages such as COBOL/400, SQL/400, CLP/400 SDA, RLU, PDM, WRKQRY, Sequel, ACOM, Catapult, DFU.\r\n- Demonstrated expertise in Insurance for Management of the WINS system\r\n- Full knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies and tools for the iSeries.\r\n- Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and deliver projects accurately and on time.\r\n- Excellent problem-solving, communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions.\r\n- Effective written and verbal skills, to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.\r\n- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage resources efficiently.\r\n- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.\r\n- Property and casualty insurance experience a strong plus.\r\n- Occassional travel to New York City or Morristown, NJ.",
