The selected candidate will perform laboratory testing on soils, asphalt, aggregates, and concrete materials, and assist with general laboratory operations as assigned.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in developing a career in <strong>construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering support, and laboratory operations</strong>.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform routine to moderately complex laboratory testing on construction materials, including:</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Soils</li>\n  <li>Asphalt</li>\n  <li>Aggregates</li>\n  <li>Concrete</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Prepare, label, and organize test specimens and samples</li>\n <li>Accurately document and record test data and results</li>\n <li>Maintain laboratory equipment, tools, and testing areas in clean and operational condition</li>\n <li>Assist with receiving, handling, and tracking incoming samples</li>\n <li>Follow applicable laboratory procedures, standards, and safety requirements</li>\n <li>Support additional laboratory and project-related tasks assigned by the supervisor or laboratory management</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p>\n<p>Candidates must possess the following qualifications:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record</li>\n <li>Ability to pass a drug screening</li>\n <li>Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team</li>\n <li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills</li>\n <li>Willingness to learn and develop technical skills</li>\n <li>Ability to work construction-related schedules, including occasional night shifts and weekends as needed</li>\n <li>Ability to travel locally to support project assignments when required</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>\n<p>The following certifications are preferred but not required at the time of hire. Candidates must be willing and able to obtain them as part of their professional development:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>ACI Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician</li>\n <li>Caltrans Certifications</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Technical Skills</strong></p>\n<p>Candidates should possess basic computer proficiency and general working knowledge of:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Microsoft Word</li>\n <li>Microsoft Excel</li>\n <li>Microsoft Outlook</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p>\n<p>This position is primarily based in the <strong>San Diego Office Laboratory</strong>. Work may occasionally require local travel to support project needs.
