    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The faculty will be responsible for educational leadership and student instruction on a part-time basis in Building Construction courses. This role will teach theory and lab courses on residential and commercial building methods and techniques in the areas of concrete science, concrete estimating, and masonry principles.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Associate's Degree In Concrete Science Technology, Masonry, Building Construction Technology, or related discipline. Required</li>\n <li>Bachelor's Degree in Residential Construction Management, Technology Education, or related discipline. Preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>EXPERIENCE</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>In Residential Construction Management, Technology Education, or related discipline. Required</li>\n <li>Six (6) years trade experience in building construction, concrete and masonry, to include estimating and management experience in residential and commercial construction. Preferred</li>\n <li>Teaching experience at the secondary or postsecondary level. Preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>ABILITIES AND SKILLS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, staff, faculty, and the public. Required</li>\n <li>Developed organizational skills. Required</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required</li>\n <li>Sensitivity to the expectations of students, faculty, staff, and the public. Required</li>\n <li>Demonstrated sensitivity to diversity and multi-cultural issues. Required</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<li>Teach theory and lab courses on residential and commercial building methods and techniques in the areas of concrete science, concrete estimating, and masonry principles.</li>\n<li>Provide coordination and supervision for instructional field projects.</li>\n<li>Maintain accurate written records of student performance.</li>\n<li>Maintain communications with School Administrators, as appropriate.</li>\n<li>Requisition supplies, materials, tools, equipment, and maintenance as appropriate.</li>\n<li>Assume responsibility for laboratory development, coordination, and maintenance.</li>\n<li>Attend Department meetings as requested.</li>\n<li>Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines.</li>\n<h2>Physical Standards and Special Job Features</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Some lifting not to exceed 40 lbs. will be required.</li>\n <li>Some work from ladders and scaffolds will be required.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Pay Transparency</h2>The part-time rate for 2026/27 will be the greater of $1180 per credit or $787 per contact hour, prorated for student enrollment under seven. The approved substitute pay rate is $49.17 per hour during the first week of substituting and the prorated part-time teacher rate for consecutive substitute assignments that exceed one week.\n<h2>College Statement</h2>This is not a complete itemization of all facets of this position.
