    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><p>About Camp Seneca Lake Camp Seneca Lake (CSL) is a premier co-ed overnight summer camp set on 200+ beautiful acres on Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes Region of Western New York. For over 95 summers CSL has given campers in grades 3-12 a special place to recharge, unplug, and connect to nature and friends.&nbsp;</p><p>CSL welcomes all campers into a safe, compassionate community where each child is encouraged to become their best self. Children from all backgrounds come together to learn important life skills that will stay with them through adulthood. Campers develop independence, form lifelong friendships, and a deep connection to a tight knit community that is strong at its core. CSL is owned and operated by the Jewish Community Center of Greater Rochester, and we are an inclusive community center and camp that welcomes campers and staff of all faiths, backgrounds, and ages.</p><p><strong>The Waterfront Director&nbsp;</strong>is a key member of the Camp Seneca Lake (CSL) Leadership Team each summer. Overseeing all programming, operations, and safety at the CSL Waterfront, the Waterfront Director plays a pivotal role in the delivery of one of CSL&rsquo;s signature program areas. The Waterfront Director is responsible for leading their staff in implementing a curriculum that includes both daily activity periods and more in-depth &ldquo;Hobby&rdquo; experiences at CSL. The Waterfront Director must demonstrate sound judgment and establish a nurturing and safe environment for all campers, SITs (staff in training), and staff. The Waterfront Director will work directly with the Waterfront specialists and in partnership with all staff, and report directly to the Assistant Director of Programming and Logistics. The Waterfront Director must be experienced in camp or waterfront programming and child supervision. The best Waterfront Directors are education focused, dependable, and flexible. 21+ years old preferred. As a member of the Leadership Team, the Waterfront Director is expected to take on additional responsibilities beyond the Waterfront including (but not limited to) attending Leadership Staff Orientation and ongoing Leadership team meetings, serving as On Duty staff in the evenings, driving for camp as needed/required for your role, participating in emergency response plans. Private housing with a shared bathroom is included, along with three meals and plentiful snacks each day.</p><p><strong><u>Program Responsibilities</u></strong></p><p>&nbsp;● Working in collaboration with other Waterfront staff and Assistant Director of Programming and Logistics, to plan, execute and create daily and specialty programming for all campers at Camp Seneca Lake.&nbsp;</p><p>● Facilitating daily activity periods for campers aged 8-15 years old focusing on skill-building in sailing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, canoeing, kayaking, and SUPing.&nbsp;</p><p>● Supervise 7-10 staff members and Staff in Training.&nbsp;</p><p>● Be punctual to all programs and meetings&nbsp;</p><p>● Be responsible for the proper use of equipment and supplies at each activity&nbsp;</p><p>● Take lead in maintaining powerboats and sailboats - support from our maintenance and facilities team is available.&nbsp;</p><p>● Must be certified or willing to gain certification in all relevant areas (Lifeguarding and Safe Powerboat Handling).</p><p><strong><u>Responsibilities &amp; Expectations</u></strong>&nbsp;</p><p>● Be responsible for the general health and safety of their assigned campers&nbsp;</p><p>● Establish an atmosphere in which campers feel secure, happy, and part of the group&nbsp;</p><p>● Supervise campers under their immediate care at all time&nbsp;</p><p>● Make sure their campers adhere to camp rules&nbsp;</p><p>● Set a good example in all areas of camp life; act as a role model&nbsp;</p><p>● Participate with their group in all camp activities&nbsp;</p><p>● Cooperating with the other specialists and counselors in matters involving rules, safety, and program&nbsp;</p><p>● Follow through on approved curriculum plans&nbsp;</p><p>● Share these responsibilities with other staff assigned to the same program area&nbsp;</p><p>● Be drug-free (including paraphernalia) and alcohol free at camp.&nbsp;</p><p>● Avoid physically intimate relationships with all campers</p><p><strong><u>Important Dates&nbsp;</u></strong></p><p>Leadership Staff Orientation (LSO): June 10th - 17th&nbsp;</p><p>Boat Driving and Lifeguard Training: June 17th - 19th&nbsp;</p><p>General Staff Orientation (GSO): June 21st - June 28th&nbsp;</p><p>Session 1: June 28th - July 24th&nbsp;</p><p>Session 2: July 27th - August 16th&nbsp;</p><p>Family Camp: August 20th - 23rd</p><p>IF INTERESTED PLEASE APPLY <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-fr-linked=\"true\" href=\"https://campsenecalake.campintouch.com/ui/forms/application/staff/App\" data-pasted=\"true\">https://campsenecalake.campintouch.com/ui/forms/application/staff/App</a></p><p><br></p><p>EOE Disability/Veteran</p></div></div></div>\n<br/>Dates of Employment: June 4 - August 23",
