    "description": "<h2>Department Overview</h2>\n<p><em>The full-time annual base salary range for this position is $464,680-$577,283; commensurate with experience and rank. Base pay does not include incentive pay, hiring bonuses, or additional benefits such as retirement contributions. </em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Knight Cardiovascular Institute (KCVI) is recognized as a top integrated center for cardiovascular clinical care, translational research and professional training in all aspects of heart and vascular disease. Guided by a multi-disciplinary approach, researchers and clinicians drive a vibrant translational research program, which focuses on delivering the latest knowledge and cutting-edge care to patients. Specifically, research at KCVI seeks to improve patient outcomes by achieving earlier diagnosis of disease, more accurate monitoring of its progression, and tailoring therapy to the molecular basis of disease.</p>\n<h2>Function/Duties of Position</h2>\n<p>This position will spend the majority of the time working as a clinical cardiologist in the Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant team. Specific duties will include outpatient clinic, inpatient care of pre and post-transplant patients as well as right heart catheterizations and cardiac biopsies.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Clinical:</strong> 8-10 weeks of inpatient rounding on the advanced HF/transplant service, ~3.5 days of work to include heart failure clinic, LVAD clinic, transplant clinic, and cardiac catheterization (if desired), and ~1.5 days of time for transplant administration, research, education, professional development time, etc.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Education: </strong>You are expected to spend a portion of your time on education-related activities. You will be expected to participate in the support of the heart failure fellowship at OHSU and have the trainees participate in our heart failure program.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Research: </strong>There may be options for you to explore research opportunities in heart failure. Administrative support is available for grant submission, financial management and clinical trials support. Please share your research interests during the interview process.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Required Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Licensed MD with active Oregon license upon hire</li>\n <li>Board Certified or board eligible in cardiovascular diseases and heart failure</li>\n <li>DEA certifiication, current BLS and ACLS certification </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Prior experience working in academic health center</li>\n <li>Candidates of diverse background are highly enocouraged to apply</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Why apply to OHSU?</h2>\n<b>We are Oregon's only public academic health center.</b> In addition to caring for patients, we lead groundbreaking research.
