This position is located at our San Diego, CA location and reports to the Director of Design Engineering.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Position Summary: </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">The Structural Analysis Engineer will be able to create concept designs, model using FEA software, and document results in engineering analysis reports for deliverable products and tooling in collaboration with program management, customers, other engineering team members, manufacturing engineers and production personnel. Analysis work is primarily conducted in Hypermesh/Hyperworks.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Essential Functions:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Perform hand calculation feasibility studies to identify baseline structural approach.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Utilize classical lamination theory to develop lamina and laminate composite properties.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Perform computer-aided analysis of baseline design, evaluate results, and iterate refinements.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Perform computer-aided design of components and subsystems primarily using SolidWorks.to program specifications for performance, cost, schedule.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Perform design of composite molds and tooling, trim tooling, assembly jigs, and quality inspection fixtures to support production activities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Work with teams of design and manufacturing engineers on integrated projects to establish clear lines of communication and support project schedule, supply chain, and incorporate in-process design changes.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Participate in customer product design reviews (PDR, CDR, MRR etc) and interact with project management regarding design refinements.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Required Education and Experience:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Structural Engineering and 5 years industry experience or M.S. 3 years’ experience.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Knowledge of composite materials, manufacturing processes and integrated design of advanced structures that are lightweight, dimensionally stable, designed for manufacturability, and high precision.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Proficiency in Hypermesh, Patran, ANSYS, or other FEM software.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Working knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD software.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Working knowledge of drawing standards including GD&amp;T practices</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Minimum of 5 years’ analysis experience. Exposure to composite analysis a desirable.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Knowledge of MSOffice suite: Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Teams</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Required: US Citizen or Permanent Resident </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Desired: Experience using CFD analysis software for subsonic fluid flow analysis.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Desired: Ability to obtain security clearance</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">ITAR Requirement</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">This position requires the use of information which is subject to compliance with International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR). To conform to U.S. Government export regulations/ITAR, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (or, green card holder), protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Applicants cannot be hired until they are qualified to have such access.
