Description

The Aparecio Foundation is a nonprofit organization that was designed as an economic development strategy to lift women out of poverty and as a community development approach to build the leadership capacity of low-income women. The Aparecio Foundation provides academic support and scholarship programs for high-potential, low-income women in public high schools through an eight-year multiple-mentor program. The culture of Aparecio Foundation is characterized by an informal and laid back environment, where employees work independently and in teams to develop and carry out effective organizational structure and work processes. Employees are driven through self-motivation and passion for the not-for-profit sector. Through the development of quality services to the enhancement of the organization’s goals and objectives employees are able to use their strengths and skills the best ways they can! Therefore Aparecio Foundation employees are given freedom to be creative and energetic in performing their tasks and duties as professionals in their respective field of expertise. This is a unpaid Volunteer  Intern position. Assist fundraising specialist with responsibilities, coordinate planning of fundraising events – including site selection, partners needed to donate food/beverages/donation items/etc, create fun, unique ideas for fundraising events, help at actual event to ensure everything goes according to plans The Aparecio Foundation is a new and growing organization with a great need for Event Planning. The position of Event Planner will be responsible for coordinating activities of staff and convention personnel to make arrangements for group meetings and conventions. The Event Planners will be expected to be the professionals to plan, arrange and organize every aspect of corporate meetings and events. The Event Planner may also be responsible for suggesting or choosing the best-suited venue for the event, which will have all the amenities that the client needs. Some of the requirements include the arrangements of stage, decorations, food stalls, lighting, sound and video systems, etc. Description of Duties / Responsibilities: Monitor event activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, satisfaction of participants, and resolution of any problems that arise. Confer with staff at a chosen event site to coordinate details. Inspect event facilities to ensure that they conform to customer requirements. Coordinate services for events, such as accommodation and transportation for participants, facilities, catering, signage, displays, special needs requirements, printing and event security. Consult with customers to determine objectives and requirements for events such as meetings, conferences, and conventions. Meet with sponsors and organizing committees to plan scope and format of events, to establish and monitor budgets, or to review administrative procedures and event progress. Review event bills for accuracy, and approve payment. Evaluate and select providers of services according to customer requirements. Arrange the availability of audio-visual equipment, transportation, displays, and other event needs. Plan and develop programs, agendas, budgets, and services according to customer requirements.
