    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The IT Security & Operations Engineer is responsible for owning day-to-day security operations, controls, and tooling, while also serving as a Tier 3 escalation point for IT operations and infrastructure support.</p>\n<p>This role ensures the organization maintains a secure, stable, and well-managed IT environment during a period of significant system transformation. The position combines security ownership (monitoring, controls, implementation) with hands-on operational support to ensure business continuity. </p>\n<p>This role establishes dedicated ownership of security controls and risk posture as Centerline's systems modernize.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Monitor and triage security alerts, logs, and suspicious activity across endpoint, email, and identity tools.</li>\n <li>Investigate, contain, and lead recovery of security incidents and escalated operational issues.</li>\n <li>Maintain and improve detection rules, alerting, response workflows, and security documentation.</li>\n <li>Administer and optimize security platforms, including Microsoft Defender, email security, MFA, and related tools.</li>\n <li>Author and maintain security policies, standards, and baselines (e.g., identity hardening, endpoint posture, backup immutability, logging).</li>\n <li>Review and strengthen access controls, privileged accounts, endpoint posture, and system hardening.</li>\n <li>Lead remediation of security gaps and support audits, compliance activities, and policy enforcement.</li>\n <li>Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex server, endpoint, identity, and network issues.</li>\n <li>Support infrastructure maintenance, patching, and operational stability during periods of change.</li>\n <li>Perform root cause analysis, corrective actions, and ongoing risk reduction across the environment.</li>\n <li>Partner with infrastructure, helpdesk, and business systems teams to embed security into new systems, integrations, and operations.</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>5–8+ years in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or security-focused roles.</li>\n <li>Experience with security operations, incident response, and operational troubleshooting.</li>\n <li>Hands-on administration of endpoint, email, and identity security tools.</li>\n <li>Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows systems, identity, endpoints, and networking (including segmentation, ACLs, and traffic analysis).</li>\n <li>Knowledge of risk identification, remediation, and security best practices.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with Microsoft security technologies, including Defender and Entra ID.</li>\n <li>Experience with email security platforms such as Mimecast or similar tools.</li>\n <li>Experience with log aggregation, SIEM, or centralized alerting platforms.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with backup and recovery security, including immutable storage and credential separation.</li>\n <li>Understanding of identity and access management, including MFA, RBAC, and privileged access.</li>\n <li>Ability to support environments undergoing infrastructure or system change.</li>\n <li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Job Condition and Environment</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk.</li>\n <li>Occasional travel to vessel location and shipyards.</li>\n <li>May be required to travel both domestically and internationally for up to two weeks at one time.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Expected Hours of Work</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Normal office hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday</li>\n <li>Due to global nature of the company and scope of the role, duties may require being available periodically outside of normal working hours.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Company Overview</h2>\n<p></p>\n<p>Centerline Logistics is a leading provider of marine transportation services in the United States.
